How did you go about perfecting your resume? Has anyone here ever used a resume writing service?

Different employers prefer different things so there is no one way to write a CV.
When I first wrote mine I did it on word, and I was applying to work at the same shop as a friend, he told me to put it on a template and helped me to make it look good, and then I didn't get an interview, when my friend spoke to the manager, it was because he didn't like templates and thought they were unimaginative.
Saying that though so prefer templates. So it really is just pot luck, just try and make one to the best of your ability, and to what you think loogs good, then get a friend to proof read it.

Every different job opening needs a different resume.
You need to know really what the employer wants and accent those attributes that you have.

Don't stretch the truth or lie, that will get you fired later.

You don't have to list all your job capabilities, just the ones that they might be interested in. Listing every little thing makes a resume too busy.

If you get an interview, only offer information when asked. Don't talk too much.

Don't talk bad about any job you ever had no matter how bad it was. Always offer a good reason for leaving a previous employer... other than a negative reason.

Show up clean, awake, polite and eager.
