My husband left 9 months ago, and things have been pretty tough since.

We're going through court for contact with the children, he keeps changing his mind about what financial contributions he is prepared to make, and I feel as though I'm the one trying to sort everything out, spending hours and hours speaking to solicitors, mediators, CAFCASS officer, finance people, you name them I've spoken to them.

Can anyone tell me - is there life after marriage?

There is life after marraige I went thru the same with my ex wanted to keep the kids, then didn't. Accused me of breaking up even though it was him that went off with someone else(it was my fault I made him) oh Yea. For ages after everytime I went out he would threaten whoever I went out with or stop paying maintenance to the kids saying now you are shacked up with him I am not going to keep him as well. Overall he only paid a pittance but eventually I got a job, met a new circle of friends and got the kids on an even keel. That was what got to him most as he could not threaten me any longer.
So yes I now have a good social life my two kids are happy and I have a love life although we do not live together (it's just early yet) so start taking control and try to become independant. It will work out after all he can only delay things for so long get a smart and no messing solicitor, mine was fantastic.

Forget the mediators, decide what you want and go see your solicitor at the end of it, it's up to you while you mediate, negotiate he probably feels he is in a strong position and can run it but if you make the descisions and demands and your solicitor sets the coyrt date then he will have to fall in. Then you will be able to get your life back, don't let him run it the sooner you decide the sooner you and your kids can get on with a new beginning, after all you are just as entitled to happiness as he is
