MOM...ahhhh have just seen your piccie too...you two are gorgeous...whre was that piccie taken?

Cheryle...it can take months for everything to settle down before your sugars are under control. The slow-release insulin can be tweaked at night to make sure your sugars are down a bit more in the morning. They won't start you on a wacking dose last thing at night because of the risk of becoming hypoglycaemic during the night. Sugars are much better. 86 is fab this morning. Also...what are you having to eat last thing at night? Have some food that will release slow-release sugars throughout the night too, like a slice of toast, or a biscuit!

Here in the UK, we advise non-diabetics should have sugars between 4-7mmols/L, and for diabetics to be between 4-11mmols/L. So, in our terms 8.6mmols/L is fab! As for Cherko...you know how hardy unborn babies are...against the odds, babies can be a fit, healthy little bundle of joy for a multitude of things that have happened to the mother during the pregnancy! Any major problems would have been picked up on all the scans you have had! And in most cases of gestational diabetes, it dissappears soon after the baby is born! And AGAIN...you have a wonderful health service in Germany...I know you are being well looked after! Laughing

Come on, Cheryle...stay positive!!! Keep your pecker up!!! Razz (((((((HUGS)))))))

Hi all,

Cheryle - you know it's time like this that if you lived around the corner we could meet up and have a good old hormonal cry together - being pregnant is hard enough without all the added worries and ailments. But I think Cherko is going to be a lucky baby. My thoughts are with you, even when I don't post much I still think about how Cherko is doing - I can't wait for the birth announcement Very Happy

MOM - what a wonderful picture, I see where Pebbles gets her looks from Very Happy

ODN - Well done on having such a wonderful hubby, did he like his map and torch Ziggy sent him? Wink

Anyway tomorrow I am off for a scan to make sure this isn't an ectopic pregnancy as I have had a lot of sharp stabbing pains in one side - it may be where my caesarean is healing from the inside - but what will be will be

Maps and torches? Puh-lease - satnav's where it's at!

Ooooh I feel like a mother hen, worried about you all, what with Cheryle's pregnancy being a full-time job and Amberdite with a possible (but please noooooo . . .) ectopic and ODN's PCOS and everything . . .

BLING BLING BLING BLING! ODN, that's NICE! Me likey! And it has rather smoothly brought my attention to the fact that I do not have an eternity ring . . . hmm, let's see, how best to broach the subject with Mr Ziggy?! It's a pain because my engagement ring is platinum, which for some reason is really expensive (just looks like silver to me!) so then we had to get platinum wedding bands which cost a fortune, so I'll have to scrape hubby off the floor if I start mooching for an eternity ring . . ! But I have simple tastes, just a simple ring with emerald-cut diamonds the whole way round (to match my engagement ring) - would be nice . . . ahem, so, lottery tickets purchased and fingers crosses . . !

Oh well, I'm really just on here to avoid studying (displacement activity!) so I better put my head down and get on with it.

Byeeeeee peeps Smile

Hi Everyone Wave
The organ scan went fantastic yesterday!! Cherko weighs 500 grams already!!! We got to see him beamed up onto the big screen again and even a bit in 3D!!! Because of my confilicting combined NT scan results at 13 weeks (NT measurement good, blood work showed high risk for down syndrome) she looked extra hard for down syndrome soft markers but she could find absolutely none!! And she also checked if he was showing any effects from my GD, but could also find no signs of anything being wrong... it was such a relief to hear such good news!!! Very Happy Because I'm now classified as so high risk, I get to go to her again in 6 weeks for another in depth scan (hopefully also in 3D again!!) She also confirmed 100% that he's a boy Wink He's not very shy at showing his privates Laughing but he did have his hands in front of his face the whole time so we couldn't get a good 3D look at his face. She got a good profile and face shots with the normal ultrasound to check his nasal bones and for cleft lip but every time she'd try to quickly switch to 3D, he'd put his hands in front of his face again!! Laughing We got one frontal 3D, but he was on the move so his nose looks a bit chopped off and he's very skeletal still (she said that's normal for his age). Here's a coupld of scan pics if you want to look:

Thanks so much for all your support! Very Happy

ODN- I agree fully with MOM, you and your hubby make a lovely couple!! Thanks for your advice and encouragement with the GD! I think I got a few of your "happy pills" after the scan yesterday... I feel so much better about things now!!

MOM- I love the pic of you and Mr. MOM, you two are also a beautiful couple!! I wish you the best for your new pregnancy... please keep us updated!

Ambers- thanks for thinking about me and Cherko. Good luck with your scan, I sure hope it isn't ectopic Shocked Let us know how it goes!!

Ziggy- I'm glad you're still popping in to see how we're doing Very Happy Good luck with your studies and with winning the lottery Wink

Yay! Oh Cheryle, it was so good to read your post and hear everything went well yesterday. I'm so pleased for you and your family. I'm sure you feel a lot happier now - I know you still have a lot to contend with, in view of the GD, but yay - little Cherko is thriving! Very Happy

Hi all,

Scan went well, not ectopic and the sac is happily sitting in the right place. The pains that I am experiencing are probably a combo of stretching from my new pregnancy and healing from the old (if that makes sense).

They measured the sac and said it was between 5-6 weeks but no heartbeat could be seen yet as it is too early. I go back on the 31st for another check. I think they are to keep a close eye on me due to having a recent caesarean...

Having a scan brings it home that it's real. Mr A said he can already see a bump (oh noooooo) ... out comes all the maternity clothes again. I just got back into all my pretty underwear too...damn!!!!

Cheryle - so glad that your scan went really well...I just know Cherko will be big and strong and you sounded really happy.

Yay Amberdite! Fab news! Phew!

MeOhMy, I'm doing a post-grad psychology diploma with Open University - two year course and I'm over half-way through the second year. I get up at 7.30am to study until 12pm, then I work from 1-6pm.

But then I think "oh I'll just log on to see how everyone's doing . . . " and get totally distracted and lose about an hour of study time!
