Princess holly

How are you?

Don't get down about it......the progress katie is making didn't happen over night.....it takes time.

It may not work for you at all...you may have differant problems causing your wetting than Katie or Donnas daughter has causing their's.

But i wish you all the best and hope that you will start to see the benifits yourself.

PH -- sorry to hear the night wetting continues. In my case it continued until I was 19 and very thankfully it finally did stop.

MoK -- When I'm camping and need to go in the night, I just find a convenient nearby place. Perhaps you could scout out a suitable location before going to sleep.

Mumofkatie,
To update you. My oldest is dry and is no longer wearing her terries and plastic pants to bed. I put a rubber sheet on her bed just in case and will take it off in time. I am suprised at how this came about as it just happened. She had been wet in the weeks before and every morning her nappies were wet. Suddenly one morning she woke up dry and had been that way since. I continued the nappies for 3 weeks and stopped them. We had a little party for it. I had her get her terries and plastic pants and we put them in a box and away to store and they can be brought out again if the need is there. I am still kind of suprised at it all.

My youngest one unlike katie wets during th night and usually does not wake needing to go badly and still wetting most nights.

How are you?

Very Happy WOW!!!!! Great News!!!!!

So have you tried her out of a night nappy or are you still keeping her in a nappy just in case for a little longer?

How's the younger one getting on?

Katie is doing okay.....still wetting most nights but waking more and more.

I took katie camping last weekend and we had a great time but the toilet block was accross the field from our tent and i never thought to take a potty or something with us until katie woke me at around 3am needing to pee, I got up and grabbed my torch and we went outside and i then realised that the torch which seemed bright in the house was not much use in a camp site in the pitch black. I decided after about 20 steps and nearly falling over someone elses tent ropes that we should go back to the tent and just let Katie wee her nappy.

The next night i was awake and she woke up bursting to wee and sat up and looked over at me and said i'm needing but then grabbed herself and said oh im peeing myself.....but that happens at home a lot.

I have had two dry mornings this week and that is a first but both nights she has been up to pee and made it to the toilet so not needed again before getting up.

hope your progress continues

Mumofkatie,

Yes my oldest is still dry. Not one accident, close call or anything. After years of nightime nappies and plastic pants she woke up dry one morning and that was it. I must admit it came on sudden.

Katies okay that's good, over her bug. She seems comfortable with her night wear so she will help you choose the colours of her plastic panties herself that's good.

My youngest like Katie is still wet in the morning and I put her in her nappies and plastic pants just as she gets into bed. Like Katie she does not mind them either.

Planning a long trip over the summer, see how that takes shape..

Donnas

how are yo guys...sorry its been ages since i was last _.

how's the girls getting on?
so are you going somewhere nice in the summer?

Katie is doing okay.....still wet most nights.

i have found that katie has gone backwards a bit in her day time control since her urine infection. she gets about a 1 to 1 1/2 mins sometimes nt even that to get to a toilet or she's wet.....she usually can hold 3 to 4 mins. I have bought some plastic coated training pants for her that she wears if we are out and i think i can get her to a toilet in time or a nappy when going into town on the bus or other places i can't gaurantee to get a toilet in time. We were in McDonalds yesturday and she suddenly said mum im bursting, I stood up and took her hand we got about 4-5 steps and she stopped and grabbed herself and said oh no mum im peeing myself. I felt so sorry for her because McDonalds was really busy and people heard her say she was wetting and you could hear the tittle tattle from people who don't understand someone Katies age can have problems.

The Doctor says it can take a little time to go back to normal so we will have to wait and see.

speak to ya soon

Mumofkatie,

Sorry to hear of Katie's little setback. Hope it will be short lived. How does she feel about the plastic coated trainers? It's difficult one everyone when things like that happen.

My oldest is still dry, not one accident. I feel she has outgrown her bedwetting finally.

My youngest, like Katie, is wet in the morning. Now when I nappy her for bed she then goes and gets her plastic pants and puts them on herself then her pj's.

A summer trip, very much in the planning stages, maybe to the north...

Hope Katie regains her control soon.

Hello,
It is with some relief that I found this forum, my 8 yr old still wets the bed an is nappied in terries and plastic pants. I was interested to read that some of you nappy just before bed. My daughter sometimes falls asleep watching TV and has wet herself, so she is usually in a nappy before she watches tv.

Lynda,

I think you are doing what you can to make her comfortable with her bedwetting. How long before bed do you usually put her in nappies? If you are making her comfortable with them then I see no problem. In my case I only need them when she is in bed and so I put them on her as she is getting into bed.

Hello Donna,

My daughter is usually nappied before she settle to wastch TV although this depends on how likely she is to fall asleep and /or wet and how much fluid she has had for the previous few hours and if she has done a good wee before. Recently she has had only a couple of accidents when falling asleep watching TV so this last week I have tried her with only plastic pants on and so far only one accident during which she woke presumably when she felt wet. - the plastic pants did their job and the couch remaind dry. She waddled into the bathroom with a little pool in the sagging bit of the pants.
This seems to work and befor she goes to bed she visits the bathroom, pulls them down like normal pants, uses the toilet then has her night nappy put on in her bedroom. This is still wet every morning but at least I know that the nappy she gets into bed wearing is dry.

Lynda,

I've never used a plastic panty all by itself. There is usually something under it. A heavy panty or double nappies and yes the nappies she has on when she gets into bed are dry and usually wet in the mornings.

How does she feel about the nappy and plastic pants when you get her ready for bed? Is there a fuss or is it just a normal nightly thing?

Hi,iam rosi, iam 13 yrs old and iam still a bedwetter. Please dnt make fun of me, as this is very hard to talk about, as ive never really talkd to any body before. It wud really help to talk, as my situation is very simlar to u guys.My mum is very caring and understandable to my problem, but at first i thought i was the only 1 with the problem and thought my mum was not dealing with it in the rite way, but i see she isnt by these posts. I hav a medical problem with my bladder which means i carnt control it, it justd happens, then its over for a short while. Due to my problem, ive never been out of nappies.ive aked my mum to stop wearing thm, but my mum says i need to stay in thm for my protection and comfort, and she never blames me, or for a punishment, she justd cares and nos its not my fault, but at 13 iam getting embarassed. Ive always worn disposables thru the day, with plastic pants, but have asked my mum to wear terry nappies thru day instead of disposables, but she says no, as it is too embarassing as my terrys are more bulky then my disposables. What do u guys think, are terrys better then disposables) The other reason is, disposables are more easier to change thn terrys thru day, rather then a disposable, (Do u guys agree with this, all the advice would be good. sori for going on, but i feel slighty better ive talkd to sumbody else.

Hi mumofkatie, I suffer the same as katie in sum ways, which means i carnt control it. whts starting to unpset me is iam still iwearing nappies and never been out of them, my mum is very much like you, the way u deal with it with katie, i no shes abit younger, but she knows how it feels. ive allways worn disposables and plastic pants in day time and terry nappies and plastic pants for bed. my mum is very understanding and caring about my problem and doesnt treat me like a baby, but says i need tht surpport and protection to stop me from being embarassd whn i hav accidnts. is this same case with u for katie.. i hate it, but my mum tells me its better to hav a wet nappy thn pants, trousers and a bed.my mum wants me out of thm, but knows she carnt until its sortd, thts why she keeps me in thm. is this same for katie, she must find it hard. i dnt really mind wearing thm, as i no it helps me. the only thing i hate about my problem is, whn we go anywhre, people can sumtimes see iam wearing a nappy and whn ive had an accidnt, it gets worse as my nappy gets heavy and bulky, i also hate tht if we r out for a while my mum will try and change my nappy, which only takes afew minutes, but she wont change me in a open toilet, only a private cubical to stop embarrasnt if not i hav to wait till we get hm. How do u and katie cope whn your out, do u do the same, or justd change her. Like u and katie and afew other mums my mum puts me into my night time nappy about an hour be4 bed.i prefer my terry nappy thn my disposables as they are more comfy, ive askd my mum to wear them instead of the disposables, but she said no, as disposables are quick and easy for day time. plus terries are better for night time as iam a heavy wetter. is this why u put pampers on katie, then terries for night time. i thought i was the only one in the world till i read your posts mumofkatie and lindas posts. Is Katie's wetting connected to infection or does she generally have probs holding her bladder ? Is she nappy-free outside ?
If she doesn't already use protectio, fasten 2 large thick terry towelling nappies (get from Drylife _) under her clothes, baby it seems but she will feel more confident in case of accidents and it won't be a battle to find a loo. Is her pants always damp ?
Take her toilet before leaving the house
