miss period, negative result

im now 8 days late for my period and was wondering whether its possible to still be pregnant with a negative test result. I also noticed where the positive line would of been there was a small dot, i took the test late at night and had drunk quite excessively that day, could that alter the results. Im usually very regular and have never missed a period i feel constanty tired and going to the toilet a lot, im confused if im not pregnant then what else could it be?

The test might not have worked properly if you drank too much as it can 'water down' the hormone. You should try again or go to your doctor.
