I think I've already told you about "the talk" I've already had with my son, but probably not all of it.
All the kids will get a variation of the same talk:
1. you are too young.
2. if you do it anyway, use protection
3. pleasuring yourself is normal and nothing to be ashamed of
4. only with explicit consent from both parties
He then asked what I thought about premarital sex. Answer: get as much as possible under the previously stated conditions.
Hell, do I want him to feel guilty about sex? No. My daughter is going on the pill "for cramps" when she turns 13 and will get the exact same talk. |
Are you going to tell her what you wanted from girls at that age? |

I sort of think you are. Cheating on spouses, putting a 13 year old on the pill. That's la la land.
Sorry to butt in. I was under the impression that the Dr was putting her on the pill due to painful periods? 2 of my friends at school did the same thing. I dont think its that uncommon? |

Didnt see this before. Why not just let them decided how much or little they'd like sex? What you say kind of infers that they 'should' be doing it as much as possible - like an expectation? Knowing you dont want sex at any given time is just as cool as knowing you do, whatever your age. |

Nope. She is still very young. That is going to be our excuse to put her on the pill.

I think some doctors do it but from what I know now, it is not a wise choice for someone that young.
About coolman's comment, I got the impression that he was just joking about the "cramps" part because he was referring to the future tense and not the present. |

I agree with that but you're putting your views about promiscuity onto them. 'its ok to have sex with loads of different people'? Why not let them decide whats ok for them.
I wouldnt entertain the pill unless prescubed by a Dr for extrememly painful periods. Shes not a guineapig. Plus the 'only' safe way (regardless of pregnancy) to have sex is with a condom. std rates amongst the young are getting higher and the pill wont make a blind bit of difference to this. hiv is also onl the increase in the young. |
