| I think it depends on where you live and yes socially it would matter as well. Where I live the bridesmaids pay for their own outfits, unless you're upper class and the bride pays for everything. I think you need to check on what's acceptable for your area. Nevermind what anyone else here thinks. |

i believe if ppl want to have bridesmaids then they should be able to afford them..
some ppl say the bridesmaids themselves should pay for the dress as they get to keep it...BUT most bridesmaid dresses are not made to be worn at any other occasion...
I say that the bride should pay for the dress n the hair if she got the cash....if not..just the dress... |

There is no wrong or right answer.
If your budget allows then pay for it all,
If you can't afford it all, then agree some sort of arrangement, where you could pay the deposits on the dresses and the bridesmaids pay the outstanding balance.
If you are asking friends to be bridesmaids, if you inform them that the budget is tight, then they should be understanding and make allowances.
Keep the numbers of bridesmaids down, especially on a 'small' budget.
Most bridesmaids dresses are more up-to-date and can be worn again at formal events, other weddings or to new year parties. |

I had to pay for my bridesmaid dress and I thought it was bs because she came for a very well to do family and the two sisters who were also bridesmaids got theirs paid for. I will never wear it again b/c the color is awful even thought on top of the full cost ($140) I had to pay another $40 in alterations b/c the lady at the shop ordred the wrong size. Oh, yeah and I had to pay for my hair and makeup twice-b/c she wanted to get pictures the day of and the day before.
Save your bridesmaids the stress and pay for it yourself. If you can't afford thier dresses then maybe you are'nt in a finacial sitaution to get married yet. Remember-ITS YOUR WEDDING-not theirs! |
