Ipod Question

Is it really true that when Apple replaces the battery in your iPod,
it doesn't return the same exact iPod?

My mate told me Apple replaces iPods with refurbished ones.

The scary bit from my point of view is that I would loose all the music stored on it!

Any ideas?

Surely the point with an ipod is that all the music is stored in itunes on your computer? So the next time you plug it in you'll get all the music back again.

I didn't know the batteries could be replaced - how long do they last and how much does it cost for them to be replaced?

There are kits available to replace the battery yourself at home. Just do a search _ for one and i'm sure you'll find plenty.

The battery on mine lasted about 7/8 hours when i got it a year ago but is down to about 4/5 now. It happens to them all.

If you have a Creative Zen Touch and when it gets sent away for the same type of thing they wipe the hard disk inside before doing any work on them. I think Apple does the same thing. It says in the owners manual to keep a backup of all the files on it anyway

sorry to hitchike this topic - but does anyone know whether there are any IPOD magazines out on the shelves yet?
