I think it's a lot of things that can cause height problems... genes, sleep, health, GOD! You are they way you are for a reason, and if you're confident with who you are than people will be less likely to nag you over it. You are pretty average though, I am 4"9 (and have stopped growing) and it was very hard to come to terms with that fact that I am a "legal midget". I can't say I'm fully happy, but I am working on it and am seeing more and more of how great it is to be small!

i'm a 14-year-old girl that doesn't get much sleep, and i'm taller than the average person my age [5' 9"] BUT I WISH I WAS SHORTER/CURVIER!!
it's mostly genes that cause it i think. just learn be happy with the height you are! [lmao, i'm such a hypocrite..]

At 18, you've pretty much finished growing. You could try eating healtier to become leaner, slimmer and in better shape which will prob give you more confidence and make you feel better.
theres no reason why height should stop you from doing anything, and its pretty clear that you wont grow anymore.
i understand that it can get you down, i know the feeling, but there are other things that make you attractive. focus on what you do like, and you'll be more confident.

Hello
I'm having trouble trying to find the height in which is to be considered a "legal midget" (I hate that term). I was talking with a group of friends and someone had asked how tall I was. After replying 4'10, they had told me that I am to be considered a legal midget. I'm 24 yrs old and I'm 4'10 and 110 lbs. I always thought that the so called height for a legal midget was 4'6 and shorter. I've been looking on the internet and I find several different heights...4'10, 4'11, and anyone under 5'0. I'm now so curious to know. I would also like the know the politically correct term for "legal midget," and if that’s the actual term, then it should be changed. Can you please help me to clarify this personal matter. If you don't know the answers to my questions, can you please refer me to some other websites.

i'm 19 and 5'11. i might still get to 6'0, accordind to my doctor!
i totally hate my height and would do anything to be 5'7 or 5'8 with some curves. well, anyway my point is that when you're short you want to be tall, when you're tall you'd like to be short. people always want the opposite of what they have. but everyone already knows that Smile

so don't worry too much about it. you don't have to be supermodel tall to feel confident Smile

hey im 4'11 and im 16 i am not a midget friends were nagging me. and for people asking about the legal height for a midget.. well legal has really nothing to do with it. being a midget you would be one a birth so you would be diagnoesed with it by your doctor. not that there is anything wrong with being one. there a some midgets that are taller the 4'10 being small isnt a bad thing at all. its about having confidence somthing im still struggling with.

I'm 5'2 without any heels and i find it so much of a struggle reaching things in s.markets.It wont be long before i'm falling off shelves trying to reach things because i dont like asking taller people.Sometimes it is funny asking someone at the store to reach something and they are not much taller than yourself . They then nearly end up falling. I am 43 and still struggle with every day life and di wish i was at least 5-5 as being more average than myself. But life goes on and you can have just as much fun at the expense of a tall person so i feel it does gradually even it self out. I do tend to try to stick with talking to smaller people as the neck does tend to hurt when you keep looking up even for 5-2 .lol

Well I saw this film which had a mushroom that if you licked one side you grew bigger and if you licked the other side you got shorter Laughing

On a more serious note - you could try wearing heels or even better just accept that you were born to be 5'2.

I mean, BUFFY is 5"2, it ain't no bad thing!
I'm 4"11 and I love my height. It causes problems-finding clothes, shoes etc (might just be an island thing tho, I don't know what it's like on the mainland) and it can be hard to dance, see things, you're level with smelly armpits etc, but I can't help but love it. Wish I was slimmer...when you're short, extra weight shows up so quick! But short is cool! My friendsalso like me being short, I take up less room in the car and they get more leg room!

Im 4'11" and i love the way i am... 'cept for when my friends put their arms on my head.. I tend to wear high heals alot and clothes are really hard to find. I always have to roll up my pants and that ruins them. Girls complaining to be 5'2" i would dream to not have to ask any one to get things down for me but sometimes it is a good thing. Just be happy with the way you are. My husband is more than a foot taller than me and he loves me just the way i am.
