the worst thing (besides the engine blowing) that i am always worrying about with my car, is parking next to pple that will open their door into it, and scratch the paint.. today i went to walmart (there for 3min) it was kinda a tight squeeze between me and this silverado, sure enough the guy drivin the thing has his door open to just where the door will stay open by itself. i know that he wasnt this carefult the whole time.. and i was right, i got home and there were like mini scratches.. i got his liscence plate number though.. so it's not a problem anymore..

had any bad experiences like this? please post!

That reminds me of a trip I had to France. Ever seen how the French park in Paris ?

They use their cars as battering rams, to try & get into spaces that are far too small for the car they're driving !

I was pissing myself laughing at their ridiculous antics whilst they were trying to 'park'.

I noticed loads of the cars had dents & scratches on their bumpers ... I just wish i'd had a camcorder - £200 for sure.

Since my B/f's m8 told us all about how he keyed a car because it 'blocked him in' (meaning he's a typical bloke and can't drive in the first place) I'm always worried about parking next to idiots who can't drive properly and think everyone else should pay for it Mad

Never heard of that myth/rumour/stereotype, did you make it up out of anger or is it popular where you're from?

I come from a place called the real world. It's not a rumor here, either. It's a widely accepted truth

Even though I'm a female, I think that this is bollocks.

Anyway, I don't drive (too young - for a car anyway) but I remember one time (the day after my mum had a car accident) someone pulled out next to where her car was and scratched a bit of the paintwork.

this usually happens when parking very close to another car's door. and there's nothing you can about it if you insist on parking there.but you can always choose to park on another place safer. it happens all the time for me.

That's why if the parking lot is crowded, I just park in the back and walk. There's so many lazy b*stards that will wait for someone to pull out of that nice, close parking space, you dont have to worry about them being out back hitting your car.
