Does anyone know if it's frowned upon to wear certain colours in your wedding dress.

I've been researching the history of the wedding dress and found that it was once traditional for royal brides to marry in Silver. Silver is my favourite colour and would be perfect for my Wedding dress, as my H2B's favourite nickname for me is Princess.

Since I'm not a real princess, am I allowed to get married in a Silver dress?

I don't see why not. You might want to check with the vicar or whoever if you're having a very traditional wedding though.

Silver isn't that unsimilar to white. Some marry in red. Should there be a problem, when the colour is so similar ?

Smile It's going to be a long way off traditional. Won't be having a vicar if I can help it, and I'll probably get struck by lighning if I dain to enter a church!

I kinda thought I could get married in any colour I want to, but wasn't sure if it was one of those Old rules - Like you can't eat a swan if you aren't really royalty - you can't have a Silver Dress if you're not really a princess

I bet you'll look beautiful.

I would have liked an unusual coloured dress, but didn't have time to get one sorted out as hubby was keen to get married quickly (bet he was worried I would change my mind!!!). We had a non-traditional wedding, went up to the Isle of Skye and had a fantastic time.

Hope you have a wonderful day Very Happy
