Hair originally golden blonde, darkened to brown as I got older.
I bleached the whole lot with blue powder bleach and 20% hydrogen peroxide, starting at the underneath hair at the back.
Result: Lighter brownish.
Conditioned like mad, especially with warm olive oil and mayo and egg yolks. (Can find recipies _.)
A week later I bleached it all out again. Started with back hair underneath again, then did the roots, then after half an hour did the rest. Left it on about an hour.
Result: Okay but bit too much gold. I must have a lot of red\gold\yellow in my hair.
This is where the hair-dressers will have a fit. I kept up with the deep conditioning as well as using a conditioner on the ends 3 times a day. I let my hair dry in the sun. AND I went to the beach and put sea water on my hair. I didn't soak it; just a splash here and there. The idea of this was to make my hair look more natural which, with the drying in the sun too, it did.
Dilemma comes about now. I don't like this lemony-yellow colour I have and I don't know whether to bleach it again or to add a toner this time. By toner, I mean a permanent or semi-perm colour.
Any ideas, gf's?
I wish I could get hold of some Magic Silver White but it seems to have been discontinued here.
I have just bleached my hair from a mix of medium copper brown and copper blonde (with natural dark brown regrowth) to a golden blonde which reacts really well with toner.
I used MyHDHair colour stripper on the coloured parts, which stripped the colour out really well. Bad thing is it stinks like rotten eggs. Use in well ventilated area.
Then I used 30vol bleach as a pre-lightener (Hairhouse Warehouse - aus store advised to use this). I kept it on for between 5-10 minutes and it was this colour.
During the stripping, I put a deep conditioner on and left on for 10 minutes. After the processes, I deep conditioned again, and have been constantly using leave in conditioners.
For the toner, id suggest Decore toner. It says just that. It comes in a bottle and it says u can either use it alone (for up to 20 minutes) or use with shampoo. After the bleaching, I used it in my hair for around 15 minutes. The tint in it is NOT strong enough to leave your hair purple, so dont even worry about it. It does work well though.
I have also been using shampoo and conditioner which has a toner incorporated in it.

ive got dark brown hair, it is all natural,
what would be the best way to go about getting it blonde?
Im a teenager, and i have to pay for my hair dying myself,
so dont so go to a salon,
like store bought dye?
brand? how many times i should use it?
a good conditioner or shampoo to use during/after dying my hair?
I have naturally dark brown hair and have used rinses and dyes going burgundy to light brown and now its pretty dark brownish with reddish tones.. but i want to dye it a golden color how do i go about this?

i have before bleached my naturally black hair to blonde at first the colour turn yellow and usually take two apllications of bleach spaced out between a week though NOT at once or your hair will fall out. if you get a yellowey colour use a shaders colour from superdrug in ash blonde to tone it. however im now training to be a hairdresser, and if you have naturally dark hair i recommend to go to a hairdressers for a more effective and less damaging way of dyeing your hair. often they will suggest chunky highlights as this stop your roots showing as quickly as if you dye your full head you also achieve a better colour staight away from the hairdressers. ][/i]

PLEASE DO NOT BLEACH IT AGAIN IT WILL DROP OUT!!!!!!as a hairdresser i would say, You have bleached your hair alot and i wouldnt advise putting any permanant or semi -permanant colour on it. the reason it went light brown first was you didnt use the correct volume of peroxide you should have used 30 or 40 vol. i would recomend going to superdrugs and putting an ash blonde toner on it for around 20 mins or less if you notice the colour changing. your hair is heavily processd at the moment and i would recommend i deep nurishing conditioner treatment theres a range called UNA which you will find _ also a range called MASTEY or a LOreal product would be the best, leave it on wrapped up in a warm towel aproximatly 20 mins before rinseing well .As the current condiontion of your hair stands i would tone it first before goin to the hairdressers as many i know wouldnt touch it espescially home bleached and wait for your roots to come through once you have a good inch of roots go to the hairdressers have a good chop off your ends and gets it done profesionally, this isnt nesscessarly as expensive as you may think. hope it all goes well

Heyy!
The Best Thing You Could Do, Is Take Stand Test!! This Means . . . Cut A Piece Of Your Hair, At The back! . . . Put Some Colour On It And See How It Is! If It Nt The Colour You Want Test It again With Another Colour! But . . . If The Hair Feels Damaged! I Wouldnt Dye It!
If You Want To Change The Colour . . Maybe Dye Light brown and Thn Maybe Couple Months Later Dye It Dark Blonde!
i only just bleached my hair blonde a couple of days ago! and its come out beautifully!
My hair has been black, dark brown, red, and a medium brown, so even if you have dyed your hair a lot before, it still works!!
my hair was a medium brown (but some strands were a very dark brown), i was going to have it bleached at a hairdressers, but they didn't want to do it cos my hair was quite dry and dark, and they were going to charge me like £85! So i just decided to do it myself.
i bought the Jerome Russell - B Blonde permanent highlightening kit (from boots) , for medium to dark brown hair, which is 40 Vol ( i know, veryy bad for your hair!) and it was only like £3.50. so i just put that all on, making sure i did the roots last as they take less time to develop, and i left it on for the maximum time. washed it off, and it was a pale yellow, but there were a few strands that come out ginger, which was what i was expecting. Then i used the Jerome Russel toner for Bubbly champagne blonde, which is a purple based toner which is what you want, left that on for maximum time, and my hair was a lovely blonde!!
however, i could still see a few ginger bits on the ends of some of my hair, so the next day i got another pack of 30 vol, used that on my hair, and used toner again, and my hair is now the perfect blonde that i wanted!! and it all cost me under £15 !
surprisenly, my hair isn't damaged at all! it looked a bit frayed at the ends when i first bleached it, but after conditioning it, my hair was just back at its normal state. i am really pleased with it! my friends have even asked me to do theirs for them cos they like mine so much!
So, if you have brown hair, it is possible to go blonde all on your own without having to fork out 100quid at the hairdressers!!
