What do you think of the groom taking the bride's last name, instead of vice versa?

I must admit, I've never even considered this. I see no problem with a man taking his wife's name. Her name might be famous or sound really nice, and his name might be just horrid. Surprised Or maybe he just wants to let her know how much he loves her and is committed to her.

I'm definitely taking my fiance's name when we get married. I love his last name, and I would be proud to have it. I'm also happy that my signature won't change that much and that my initials will stay the same--H.R.H. (I just like the way it looks like Her Royal Highness...shhhhh, don't tell anybody... Wink )

I don't see a problem, especially if the wife's surname is nicer!!

Ditto.

Although I don't think it should have to be compulsory like it used to be for the woman.
