The other day i was driving along a dual carriageway behind a 4x4 with a completely open rear window. The 4x4 was doing 80mph..The very young child in the back climbed up.....all i could see was his head and arms out of the back window..maybe someone was holding his feet but i could'nt see that and that is irrelevant!!!! Well it certainly scared me...why didnt the parents not feel that fear ? Why don't parents put seatbelts on their kids? When you crash at 30 miles an hour ...they will be dead...and you will wished you had taken care of them!!!!
I'm amazed too by some parents. I often see children in the front of the car, standing up between the passenger's legs while the car hurtles round a corner. Or children not strapped in the back. And I've seen a driver smoking away with the windows up and children in the back - and they had a 'child on board' sticker too!
I have two children and we are very careful. Although a little while ago we stayed on camp site and as we only had to drive a few hundred yards we didn't bother strapping them in. Even driving at 10mph, we had to brake suddenly when a dog ran out - and one of the children fell forward. Nobody was hurt but we learned our lesson. What if we'd been driving at 20 or 30?!?
There really are some people in the world who dont deserve to be blessed with children!
I have no Kids, but a little sister who's six. Even at tis young age, she knows (as did I) to always wear a seatblet in the car. Even to the point of throwing a hissyfit of you have to start the car before she's strapped in. When my Either me or my Mum take her and her friends anywhere, some of them have the same respect for the car. Others will not. they wont wear a seatbelt, they will climb all over the car without the slightest regard for the danger theyre putting people in. the will Also recieve a monster telling off , not only from my Mum, but from my Sister, too! (go sis!)
Amazing what kids can learn about danger at such an early age and such a shame that some adults cant be bothered to teach them!
