What a fashion double standard !

I totally agree! Just for fun, i've always wanted to wear a skirt (something long cuz i don't shave my legs haha), and just see how long i have a job for or who picks a fight with me and of course the numerous remarks from females.

Yup, double standard indeed.

I have worn a knee-length denim skirt in public, and to two of my jobs.

No negative comments at all. I was just accepted like any other person.

If men want to wear women's jeans then go for it. Some men's jeans are too loose and flimsy where women's jeans are nice and fitting.

A rather interesting concept!

They don't have any room in the front or crotch for your things. With a back zipper, you must have to pull them down and sit too pee. And, with no pockets, you must have to carry a purse.

If enough men wore womens clothes in public, you would be surprised by the number.

Womens jeans are more curvy and will sit on guys hips better.

Womens clothes are nicer, they fit better, are more pretty.

I have to agree with you davidhawkes on all your comments.

Seriously? What part of the world are you from (I'm asking because if your from the UK or where a more liberal society lives). I commend you for starters. My reason for attempting such a thing would be to simply observe the "double standard" factor.

PS: I'm having a heck of a time finding a dark denim, plain skirt Smile

And your point is...?

Well, people might not believe me but it is true.

I live in Devon in the South West of the UK.

Last summer, I wore a denim skirt a few times because it was too hot to wear jeans. Why should I suffer being uncomfortable and sweaty?

I remember going shopping for clothes in Exeter, and as I finished, I was walking towards must have been about 200 men who came out of a football match.
I was expecting rude comments or silly giggles. But nothing, as if I was still wearing jeans.

I bought my skirt from Warehouse - one of the top brands of ladies clothing stores on the high street.

I am unable to wear a skirt this year due to the treatment I am having on my legs.

Yes, I admire the UK. It seems here in the US we are still in the dark ages when it comes to social issues and all that religious/victoria bologna.

Its sad when an article of clothing makes you a "man" or not.

Well, the UK is still in the dark ages to, as not many men wear skirts.

There is going to come a time when it will not be a social issue.

I would say that it takes more of a "man" to be diiferent to other guys.

What is everyone so afraid of anyway? A piece of cotton? Laughing

No -- men can wear women jeans as im wearing all time included at work cos of size problems - i cant use men jean which is too big for me as Im suffered from weight loss as women jean is prefect fit for me - it same as men jean but different size - i also wear mini skirt as well to keep me cooler, it nice when wear opaque tights, skirt and boots - it just normal clothes --- remember it yer body and do what you like to wear it.

I wear mini skirt cos my body need to cool down - it helps as it need plenty of air around my body so just wear it if you want to. does sexy men look good with skirt or mini skirt,etc..???? Smile

Mac i mentioned the Nixie jeans made by Miss Sixty. I might add while they are a tight fitting jeans they have a double layer in the front crotch area so they will hide your bits. there is a button at the rear as well as the zip. The button is well hidden. They are low cut jeans. Better to buy the normal leg than the flared leg. Type nixie jeans on e bay & view the pics.

Non sequitor! What does the amount of flare have to do with anything??
I have been wearing flare-legged women's jeans since 2001 (indeed, I wore men's flares when they were en vogue in the 70's) and I have NEVER received comments from either gender about the FLARE!! If you think that the flare is going to "give you away", then you are a paranoid idiot.
