I just heard back from FF, that the folder that appears on my desktop each time I click (from the main page..FF.co.uk) "discussion board", is not a function of the site, and nothing to do with FF!
Yet I don't get it from anywhere else. Confused

It seems harmless, but annoying that I have it to delete everytime, and its "properties" give no clues. It is read only and zero bytes. !!?? It doesn't get picked up by any of my numerous security progs.

Does anyone else get this particular phenomenon?

I would delete the folder if its empty then run a programme like trend micro _ which is free and will search your computer for viruses and then in most cases get rid of them for you. Also check for spyware on your computer.

It is a real strange one this! I have plenty of upgraded security progs and nothing shows this up. It seems totally harmless and easy to delete. As long as I stay away from FemaleFirst I don't get it anywhere else. As soon as I click on FF it appears back on the desktop.

Yes I can ignore it, just interested to see if anyone else has this going on?

Nope, and I've swopped everything fromOS to hardware in the last few months, browsers (currently using Firefox as Opera does not seem to like some forum codings). Nothing at all.
What sometimes happens is that stuff attaches to a site, and sometimes it's not easy to pick up, perhaps run a anti-spyware program to make sure there's no malware or addware on your PC from it. Wink
