|
|
Hi,
My period is now over 2 weeks late. My partner has had a vasectomy so there isn't really a chance I could be pregnant - even so I did do a pregnancy test just in case - that was negative. I'm not stressed about anything, have neither lost or put on a lot of weight and I am reasonably healthy! I can't get an appointment with my GP until late next week.
Has anybody got any ideas? Or has this happened to any of you?
Thanks. |

| It happens to a lot of girls. I knew one girl who had missed periods for months and she wasn`t pregnant, so no worries here! |

It is very common for periods to be late every now and again. There are many reasons why this could be but none of them are serious. E.g. have you recently stopped some method of contraception (pill, implant etc)? Have you been stressed recently? Have you lost or gained weight recently? How old are you? As women get closer to menopause (in their forties usually) cycles become irregular and fewer and further between.
If the pregnancy test is negative then thats pretty conclusive that you are not pregnant.
Finally don't worry if none of these gives you the answer to why your period is late. Quite often there is no answer, its just nature. |

Hiya, I am 7 days late now and have done 3 pregnancy tests all negative, but still no period and I am always very regular.
It's good to know other people have been through the same thing and are not pregnant. I am still worried that I am even after 3 negatives! lol |

If you've never had sex then you can't be pregnant! Did you miss the sex education class or something?!!
Don't worry about irregular periods- it is very common for periods to be even months late when you're young. There's nothing wrong with you, its because you're not out of puberty yet. When you get older they will become more regular. |

I am nearly 40 and have never (except when I was preganant) missed a period. I am now for the first time 3 weeks late and am a bit worried. If anything my periods are alway very heavy and last for 6-7 days so this is extremely unusual. My husband had a vasectomy a year ago and I came off my pill in January this year. I also have heavy discharge which I am taking antibiotics for and my doctor advised could be the reason why my period has been missed. How can this be. Surely there would be some sign that I am having a period! I have not taken a pregnancy test yet but will have to I think, just to put my mind at rest.
Please can someone help put my mind at rest.
Thanks |

| I am 34 and as regular as clockwork...every month I am 28 day cycle..no change. But this month I am 4 days late. I have done 2 tests and both negative and I am in a very confused state. I have recently stopped exercising as much as it is school holidays and havent got to the gym in 5-6 weeks now...but am still quite active...I cannot for the life of me think why Id be late. I am concerned there is something wrong that I dont know about....and to top it all I booked our holiday for this coming friday 4 months back because I knew I would of just finished my period and would be able to swim and be comfortable and not be quite so bloated!!! typical...whats the betting Ill start a period friday morning....anyway anyone with any ideas or comforting thoughts be greatly appreciated |

| I am soon to be 47 years old. I am 2 weeks late with a period. I have been having heat flashes and resstless sleeps for about a year now. I am sure this is another symptom of menopause. I took two pregnancy tests just to be sure. Both negative. I have a Doctor's appointment tomorrow. I want to be sure that this is a normal stage of my life and that there is nothing wrong with me. I'll follow-up this post after my Dr's visit. |

Doctor did a blood test for pregnancy and it was neg. She said that I may not ever have a period again or I may skip a few months or anything in between. It is all a part of menopause
She said that if I do not have a period within the next three months I should have hormone testing done to check the levels.
Once again, I'll keep you'all posted. |

I am 21 yrs old and am almost 2 weeks over due for my period, I took a pregnany test and it was negative. I am usualy not very regular with my periods..I usually know the week I will be getting it but never the exact day, and my breast usually get very sore. But it has now been 2 weeks and although my breat arn't sore but I am painfully bloated! I could starve myself for a day and I would still feel bloated and huge.
I bought some Gas-X to try and get rid of the bloating but it doesn't help at all..I'm not sure what to do. |
