I've been trying to change the email address used for logging into Windows Live Messenger. I signed up for a new Hotmail account, and now I want to change messenger accross to it, but it tels me I can't sign in to Messenger with it because the password is wrong, but it can't be because I cut and pasted it. I tried my new address with my old password, but that didn't work either.
I tried to sign up for a new Messenger account (via the link on Messenger itself). Only it took me to a page for signing up for a new email account.

Is there a way to change the email account Messenger uses?

Well, I use MSN messenger, but it should be the same

I select to sign out and then "sign in with a different e-mail address"

Works for me...

Thanks a lot for that. Because of previous major security holes in instant messengers, I hadn't used one for years.
I had been choosing my address from the list. I did what you said, and it worked! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
Thank You
