After going and listening to my GP for years - as everyone does you take their word for what is best.
Then one day I decided to visit the family planning clinic.
These people know the ins and outs to every contraceptive. the GP can only give you general advise whereas the FP clinic can give specialist advice as they deal with situations all day every day.
If I were you, find out where your local clinic is and drop in and have a chat - they are very friendly and helpful

I am like kelly1986. I have tried Cerzaette and am finishing my last tablet today. Firstly I had Ovranette which is where all my problems started. I was on this for a long time before I had to switch to Cerazette because I had gallstones (I am sure caused by the pill). Switched back to Ovranette when I'd had my gallbladder out. Then decided I didn't like it as I hadn't had a period in 6 months.
Went back on to Ovranette and started having wierd headaches so was put back on Cerazette. I'm starting to feel abnormal as I don't seem to be able to tollerate either type of pill.
I have now been prescribed Micrnor which I start Saturday but I just feel fed up with it all.
I have been constantly dizzy since I started Cerzaette and feel tired all the time and have lost weight. These all seem contradictory to what other people are feeling. I am starting to worry it is something else or can the pill really make you feel like this?

I was wondering what side effects other than the lack of periods people have had on this and how quick after starting the pill they come on and if they eventually subside.
I've been having some strange symptoms and wondered if it could be this pill even though I'm only in my first month of it.
I came off cerazette back in april. Best thing I have done in a long time! although probably not best to do this if you have exams coming up like I did!
It took almost 3 weeks from stopping to get my periods back and from then I have had one weekend on my period (friday till monday/tuesday) then a weekend off, weekend on, weekend off and I have just stopped my period from this weekend. Hopefully is all settling down now.
Just remember girls, if you want to stay on cerazette, give it time to settle down - I say a good 6 months or so. And when you come off, the bleeding issues continue for a while anyway until your body realises it is not being poisoned anymore!
Keep yourselves happy and remember we're all here to share our experiences for other women who are on this dreaded pill!

Hey I came off cerazette a couple of months ago and have had one period but haven't had the next one. Slightly worried I'm pregnant- how were other people's periods after stopping, is it normal to be so irregular?
Hey, i have been taking cerazette for 3 months and my period stopped which is what i wanted, however i have stopped taking it for 2 weeks now and have not had a period, i have taken a pregnancy test which was negative, has anyone else had anything similar happen???
I was taking microgynon for about 4 years then i changed to cerazette as i was getting bad headaches, I was on cerazette for about a year and had no periods what so ever! This scared me but the nurse said it was all fine! I came off cerazette as my skin was awful and i put on loads of weight and was generally misrable. When i stopped taking it my period went back to normal about 29 days later. I started back on microgynon as i found it better than cerazette and have just stopped that and my periods came back again 29 days later.
I have been taking Cerazette since March this year and haven't really stopped bleeding since! The first month I had a "normal" period (although it lasted 2 weeks) but since then there has been no pattern. Sometimes I am heavy, more like a proper period and other times I am lighter but it is constantly there, I think I have had about 2 weeks completely free since I started taking it.
Can anyone offer any advice? I don't know whether to stick with it and hope it settles down or change. I have the holiday of a lifetime with my boyfriend in September and don't want to be bleeding for that but don't know what to do for the best

i've bin on cerazette for about 18 months now and was fine, i only started taking it because i would get severe period pain, but in the last few months i've bin getting strong, sudden, stomach pains, along with low sex drive so i'm thinkin of comin off it but afraid of the pain i might get if i do
I've been taking cerazette for 3.5months and the lack of period but long two week discharge is driving me nuts!! I'm going on holiday in a four weeks and don't want to be having this whilst on holiday. I'm thinking about coming off it till I get a real period then taking it again to cover me on holiday, does anyone know if this is feasible...or have any suggestions???!!

HELP!
Hi Pipkin 1984
Your experience with Cerazette exactly the same as mine. I went to the Family Planning Clinic and the Dr said that this was normal and could take three to six months to settle down and no periods. Reading the posts some people have no periods from day one of taking the pill. Alas not me.
I did suffer from moods, feeling very low and bursting out crying for no reason, but that got better after about three months. I have been taking the pill since February and been bleeding for 62 days now, like you it can be very light, heavier, but no where as heavy as a period before Cerazette, some period pains but again no where as bad as before. I am going to carry on and keep my fingers crossed that soon it will stop and I will be period free.
Gosh I don't know how I'd cope with a period that long. I didn't have any at all which didn't bother me in the slightest, although it is slightly unnerving as you don't really know if you're in the early stages of pregnancy and apparently there is a higher change of an ectopic on the mini pills.
My main gripe was that I felt run down and tired all the time and this went away when I stopped it. Anyone else had this?
Thanks for your advice Tracey, I think perhaps I shall leave it a month or so then go back to the FPC. I want it sorted by the time I go away as it will just ruin my holiday otherwise!
I do have PCOS does anyone know if this may have an effect?
