It took me ages to get the knack of inserting tampons correctly...and haven't looked back since... Very Happy

It would be way too icky to have let my mom show me how to use tampons... Maybe what you could do is show her outside your pants as in just show her the angle the tampon should be at and that might give her a better idea on how to use them without having to actually insert one in front of your daughter... Shocked

I am having trouble with tampons too. Would anyone mind if I asked for a recommendation on a brand?

Tampax makes a lite days tampon, its tinner and the only kind I can use. They, I think, also make a line of teen tampons that I'm hoping are easier for young girls to use.

I think the person who started this thread, and also some of the posters, were pervy men.

NO a daughter does NOT want her mother to strip off and show her how she inserts a tampon into herself. Don't be stupid. Starting your periods is upsetting enough without traumatising the girl.

Can't your daughter read? Surely 'how to' instruction are on the box? Can't see it being a difficult operation - she's only shoving a lump of glorified cotton wool up her crack. What will she do when she really faces a difficult situation such as opening a tin of beans?

Is she a mong?

That post made me crack up laughing. I love straight talkers! Laughing

Okay enough said ... this is gross.

Havent we all had the uncomfortable experience of inserting a tampon in wrong or when we first started using them having the experince of even the smallest tampon avabilable feels like its tearing us up , come onn dont be so harsh on the girl . A tip my best freind got told by her mum was to put som vasoline on the tampon before you insert it that always helped ,you can evn get mini tubs to put in ur bag . I dont use the vasoline now but i found it very helpful Smile and as for demonstarting i dnt think thers anything worng with it your both women and sometimes its easyier when sumone shows you

I have had my period about a year ago and things I have read say to have a pelvic exam a year after your first period. I also think I have symptoms of vaginal problems like wetness on my underware and other things. But I started reading about pelvic exams and that type of thing but how do I tell my mum about my symptoms. What will she say.

Help!

There are some very rude people in this forum! It was a fair enough question and as far as I can see it was the people who replied who suggested she strip. I agree that the video on the tampax page is the best way to go.

And calling people mongs isnt very nice, its disrespectful to people with special needs. I thought that term died years ago!
