Dont give up people. i passed my driving test last thursday on my 5th go
keep going its sooo worth it at the end...
My problem is i never had many minor faults but all the 4 times before I was thinking i was Michael Schumacher... Well over the speed limit...
The 5th time i was determined to pass and i made sure i was a good little girl and didnt speed...
i had to do the reverse around corner and bay park and an emercency stop....

Hi
Feel really crap today. I have just failed my test for the second time and I am so angry I have steam coming out of my ears!!!
1/First time failed on observations during reverse around a corner and going too near to parked cars 'as if a small child stepped out they wouldn't have a chance'! She barked at me all the way through and made me feel really nervous!!
2/Worst luck I couldn't believe it I got the same instructor today as last time and she had me driving around for an hour? Couldn't fail me on manouvres this time so she failed me on pulling away at traffic lights. The lights were on amber on approach, turned to red when I got near so I slowed down and then set off as they changed again to green in third gear!! Car grumbled a little and set off slow so changed straight into first gear and was ok. Back at test centre she blatently lied and told my instructor that there were several cars behind me who had to swerve and pull out to pass me as I was going so slow and there was NO-ONE behind me AT ALL at the time!!! I couldn't believe it the woman obviously has a problem with me personally. feel like making a complaint but what can I do it's her word against mine and who will they believe?
THe crap thing is I could get her again and there is nothing I can do about it as if I refuse her as my examiner I will achieve nothing but being out of pocket as my test will be cancelled and I will lose my fee!!
Has anyone else had a similar experience, or is it just me?

ooh i feel sorry for you i hated the woman examiner i had she was a right bitch and i had her twice too... i do think woman examiners make there decision about you as soon as they see u...
anyways i just asked that i didnt have another woman examiner (which they were a bit confused about.) but i just said that i feel more comfortable with a guy in the car.
They guy i had my final test with was a sweetheart, the thing is think its better to have an older examiner cause the new ones are just dumb and dont seem to take into account that you are nervous and only used to yr instructor...

It's even more fun with the LGV test.
I did a perfect test and was 99% certain that I had passed with flying colours. The examiner (who I had been pre-warned about as being the worst one that I could of got) turned to me and said you haven't met the required standard because you were speeding.
I know for a fact that I did the correct speed throughout the test. The test route also had at least 7 speed camera's on it which didn't get me once for this so called speeding.
I admit that when it said 30mph that I did 30mph, 40mph I did 40mph and this is what he didn't like.
But if I had gone at 26mph, 36mph, he would have failed me for going too slow and for hindering traffic.
I was not speeding at any point during that test, and guess what there is nothing that anyone can do about the decisions that they make.
I believe that all driving schools should be allowed by law to conduct their own tests, if they are happy then the person whom they have been teaching to drive should pass. They know if someone is a good driver or not as they're the ones who's taught them.
If you make a clear mistake like hitting a kerb or not being able to reverse then its fair enough, but having to do the entire test again is unfair if you passed every other part of it. I believe that you should just be allowed to re-sit the part that you failed on, so in my case i'd drive around at a snails space holding up all of the traffic.
The irony of this is that I was pulled by the police following my test for doing 28mph in a 30mph zone in my car. The officer asked me if I had been drinking as I was going far too slow!
The fact is that the examiner could just be a control freak and lie. There is nothing that you can do about it as it is their word against yours.
Then comes the worst part of it all... you go to re-sit your test and the same examiner walks out and you know that you've failed your test again before you even get into the vehicle.
I did a perfect test. Having driven a car and a motorbike for 20 years without having an accident or a speeding ticket proves that I am a safe driver. I was failed for going the speed that the signs told me to go at. I am now in a dilema because next time I don't know what speed to go at to please the examiner as they all have different opinions on it and this is wrong as they should all think and test the same with no differences.
Personally I believe like any other organization the examiners should be brought to account through a complaints procedure. How else are the bad apples going to be weeded out?

Hi all it's me again! No-one could have as much bad luck as me! I have just failed my test again for the third time, and I am absolutely gutted!!
I got the same witch for my examiner again!! As soon as I saw her I knew I'd failed before I even set foot in the car and started the engine!! She made me feel really crap (yet again ) and I failed on not observing for long enough at a blind junction and pulling out as a car sped down the road and I had to break as I was just over the line. What a thing to happen? Fair enough I deserved to fail this time, but definately not the last where she lied!!
She was on a roll and even if I hadn't done that she'd have failed me anyway. She was merrily marking away at the form and even counted the minors half way through the test just to make sure she'd given me enough!! She gave me a major fault for gears anyway! I turned right into a road as she asked me to and then she said take the next right which was about 10 foot up the road so I stayed in second gear for the manouvre as it was a tight corner and I'd have approached it too fast and missed it!
I can't believe three times in a row I get this horrible woman and there is not one thing I can do. I called DSA customer services and they said the whole process is random and they don't pick the candidate. Cannot complain about this only her conduct (her word against mine, again) Random my a****!!! I will make an official complaint if I get her again as I think it is totally unfair that I am not being given a fair chance with a different examiner.
I cried my eyes out with frustration. How will I ever, ever pass if I keep getting the bi***, or poison dwarf as I have recently heard some of the instructors call her. Why the hell do they keep using people like this? It just seems like a big money making racket to me!!!
Good luck everyone else still to take their test. No-one can be as unlucky as me!!

sorry to hear you also like me failed your test???? for the 3RD TIME TODAY,first time i made an on coming vechile deviate,in other words he wasnt watching the road,my fault im supposed to be a professional driver 2nd time i hold my hands up kerbed it, today 3rd time i had adolf bloody hitler, failed me for speeding??????????? says i was doing 40 in a 30 zone,,hmmmmmmm these guys are a law upon themselves and you can do nothing its your word against theres
Yeh as usual it's always your fault!! I know in a normal driving situation you have to watch out for other drivers but it really is S*** failing someone because of some other ars****** mistake cos they weren't concentrating on the bloody road! People that are good drivers rarely seem to pass first time and the one's who can't even park, drive on motorways and have 'near misses' on several occasions (I know of at least three!!) seem to have no problem passing the test itself just general driving afterwards!!!
The examiners are a law unto themselves and I think it's totally unfair that you cannot refuse an examiner if you think they may have a problem with you. After all you wouldn't want Freddy Krueger (from Nightmare on Elm Street) to cut your hair would you, no one would employ him cos he's just not right for the job!! And that's the point, u can't choose at all even if they are dicks and you know for a fact that no matter how well you drive they wouldn't pass you anyway in a million years, which of course makes you even more nervous in the process, knowing this!!
If you are reading this and you are a S*** examiner or 'the bitch or poison dwarf (as you are known) my examiner of three times I have a little message for you and every bad examiner that ever ruined someones test EVER on behalf of me and everyone else !!!

Hi guys
Wow after reading all the comments, I definitely know now that I am not alone when it comes to misfortunate tests. I had this one guy twice and like some of you he failed me for the most bizarre things. I think mid point of my test I gave up and thought maybe I am not cut out for driving after all I have been told my driving instructors that people who are at university are less likely to perform well in driving in comparison to those who have not got to that stage yet. It is whole leap nonsense if you ask me, I have wasted so much money and changed so many instructors thinking that someone will help me with my driving but in the end all that happens they tell me how crap I am and take my money.... I wish Examiners would just give us a chance, I mean the new driving instructor he is so great he has taught me a lot and supports me 100%. But I see some drivers on the road who drive recklessly who have a licence and I would never dream of driving like they do. I guess I feel a bit relieved that I am not alone some one else shares the same problem.

Hi
I failed again on my 4th try the other day for going around a roundabout 2 times she said a lorry was about to come out and crush me - now there was a lorry there but he never flinched i was on the round about so i had right of way and i know i was signalling properly. When i told my instructor what she said he went mental and said i was the 7th person this month that she'd used that excuse with, all of them were his students and he thinks she has a vendetta against him personall. I feel i am in the same position as you - i worked out every time i take my test it costs me £85 (£50 test and £35 for the car) - they are a law unto themselves and i feel that they have decided to fail you before you get in the car. I'm going to wait until i passed my test and then make a formal complaint with the back up of the other people who have has this problem.
I don't blame you for taking it personally because if you know you can drive and you drove calmly and had no probs whay should you fail. I know people who have driven in to fences and hit the curb on manouvers and still passed.
Feel really crap today. I have just failed my test for the second time and I am so angry I have steam coming out of my ears!!!

Hi girlies,
Dont give up, i passed my test last week on my 4th attempt, trust me it was nerveracking, and i had a panic attack on the test but my examiner was really nice and understanding and friendly so i think that helped.
The women instructors are horrible! They judge you within seconds.
Posted: Mon Mar 05, 2007 3:15 pm Post subject: Failed 6 times
Took my 6th driving test on saturday(early morning, I had to get up at 6.30am), I should have passed ages ago as I've been driving for almost 2 years now, but keep getting failed for really samll things!
Anyway all was going well, untill about 5 mins before the end of my test, the examiner(smelly old miserable g*t) asked me to take the 2nd exit off a usually busy roundabout in ilford, essex, but it was nice and clear for a change.
I was indicating and pulling off at the correct exit, all the time checking my mirrors and there were only cars following directly behind me, then the examiner only goes and grabs the steering wheel, causing me to swerve into a lane with other drivers 'what are you doing?' 'for f**k sake' were the words that left my mouth.
Apprently I was too close to a car, which must have been completely invisible to me as there was nothing next to me. I just asked him to take me back to the test centre because I knew I had failed!
I also didn't get any other explanation from him about 'the car' I was too close to, he just marked me 4 serious marks as we sat in the test centre car park, then went off to talk to my instructor (who by the way has never had to grab the steering wheel from me, and neither has my mum or dad; who regularly take me out in my car!)
Apparently he said to my instructor that he will have to think about reporting me for swearing!
I really have had enough of all the money grabbing b*stards!!!!!!!!!!!
