I am looking to book a holiday for February next year. Has anybody been to Egypt in the winter months? If so, what was the weather like and is it still warm enough for sun worshippers?

Egypt in February is probably a good time to visit. The waether can go from early 20s C in Cairo to late 20s C in the Aswan dam area. If you do a nile cruise you will notice the change in climate as you travel towards Aswan. IT can get quite cool and breezy at night in February so a warm top is often needed.

As a Sun worshipper you should look a fwe months later to get the higher temps...Egypt can get up to 47c at the height of Summer.

Egypt doesent really have a winter its just not as hot some times of the year ! Its a very dry heat from December to mid March when the Sandstorms come And boy do they come !!! By the end of March the humity levels start to rise and at times it can be quite humid and uncomfortable.

The mozzies are like flying donkeys out there especially round the Nile so whack on the insect repellant and have the candles burning if ya sat outside in the evening.

Have a great trip and one tip....Make a friend of a cabbie on day one and look for him. Egyptians give fantastic service and your cabbiw will be proud to be your personal guide- He will also give you shed loads of information and take you to sites of interest that are not hammered by the tourists - Oh but agree the fair BEFORE you get in cos if he sets his meter running you mwill find it goes faster than a rabbit on a steroid and viagra cocktail
