Have just had a dream that I was in New York, and I was walking around a zoo full of giant gorillas with my husband, a stranger went over the high walls and was being attacked by the biggest gorilla, and my husband and I were screaming at her to RUN, but other people were taking photos! Then I found out that one of my best friends had died, so I took her minature parrot and a minature seahorse in a little plastic bag to look after! Both of the animals could talk!

Just one thing...WHAT NOW??? Shocked

I don't know about the first half.

But I do know that when you dream that a loved one dies, you're subconsciously scared that you'll loose their friendship in some way.
Parrots are considered to be long lifed and only repeat you words back to you.
Is she a long time friend? Are you missing indepth conversations with her? has she become too agreeable? Is she on holiday or planning one and you're missing her?

That's really funny - she is one of my best friends, but I haven't seen her for a couple of months - we're going out for a cheeky boozy lunch and a catch up on Wednesday! She is actually really unreliable, but I miss her loads if I don't see her for ages! She is nuts too!!!

Have never really thought of how dreams are related to real life, but my subconcious is obviously telling me in a bizarre way that I'm thinking of her!

My dreams are so realistic, but mostly a load of nonsense, I actually feel as if I have been to the place where I have dreamt of sometimes! Sometimes I get a real sense of deja-vu from what I seem to remember as a dream! Ker-azzzzeeeeeee Monkey Dance

Personally,
I think most dreams are just irrelevant memories and thoughts shuffling around.

But we all have those dreams from time to time.
We're so convinced that they mean something, or that they are a warning from the future.

And we're most probably right.

The things that we can't emotionally deal with or push aside as rediculous, are often the things that need to be dealt with at some stage.
They come back to haunt us in our unconcious mind when we sleep.

These problems, fears, hopes that we rejected can take the form of objects and situations (actions, enviroments, even smells) that are familiar to us and sybolize emotions.

Alot of these can be generalized. ie, if you dream of a house or your home, it signifies yourself. Most people will realate to this.

Be careful however, when analizing from so called 'dream books'.
Different objects can resemble different things from person to person.

A cow for instance, is meant to "promises abundant fulfilment of hopes and dreams...". Logically most people see cows as cute harmless animals that provide milk (most poeple see milk=comfort , think breastfeeding etc) but if you had been chased by a cow as a kid, then a cow in your dreams might resemble betryal of trust.

It's all just logic.

Be careful also with 'prediction' dreams.
They are more likely to be what you subconciously think will happen.

Write down the objects and situations of the dream.
Forget the dream.
Go through each object bit by bit and put it together.

I did this when I had a weird dream once.
It translated that my boyfriend at the time had cheated on me with an adolecent. (who had been calling him 'by mistake' earlier on in the relationship).
How stupid, I thought.
Than I asked him outright.
Turned out to be spot on.
