Hey everyone!
Basically ive had stretchmarks since I went thru puberty at 13 and from putting on a large amount of wieght and then losing it really quickly, Im now 20. Ive tried cocoa butter, vitamin e oil, olive oil, rosehip oil. Ive taken supplements for skin, omega 3+6+9 capsules, I started the jean wu method but its so time consuming I just cant be bothered with it although I did see some results so maybe if you can stick to it it does work.
Basically fact is nothin will ever get rid of them they are scars deeply embedded in the skin. All the treatments out there help improve appearance by smoothing the external skin texture through lasers and abrasive tecnigues. Or massaging lubricants into the skin to keep it moisturised and improve ciculation as well as taking supplements helps generate some form of healing from the inside but really and trully nothing eliminates their appearance.
I have given up on removing them completely but what camoflage techniques are there. As black person with a medium reddy brown complexion the white silvery lines are very noticeable and alot of treatments using the abrasive techniques are not reccommended for black skins although I think there is one laser that i think is safe, blue dye or something? But yeah anyway Ive noticed when you tighten the sking it looks alot better, equally if I could lighten the areas around the stretchmarks to be the same colour although the texture will still be visible in certain lights they would hardly be noticeable.
I find these stretchmarks particularly distressing because Im only 20, I havent had kids and its like after all that effort to lose the weight and improve my self esteem i get these permanent reminders of how big I was and feelings about myself that I'd rather forget. These things hamper everyaspect of my life and really affect how I value myself in relation to others. I dont think peopl understand the depression and the emotional scars that come along with these marks. Its like because they dont affect your health medically they are not an issue.
To me as long as something affects how you go about your daily life and your mental health its important and needs to be dealt with. Why dont they understand this. I mean i have them on my stomach, my arms, my back, the tops of my thighs and they make my 20yr old breasts look like a 90yr olds! I hate getting undressed in front of anyone, especially new partners, it affects my social life cos i can never find anything nicew to wear that covers up everything and i refuse to go out or go out and feel miserable cos im the only one wearing a jacket in a sweaty nightclub.
I mean i wouldnt let someone take the piss with me in terms of what i was prepared to do for a cure but i mean i would give almost anything to be free of them. I found a site http://www.skinbleaching.net/faq.htm which talks about these pills that celebrities use to make themselves lighter. Supposedly its all natural and lightens any pigmentation problems and overall complexion permanently. It mentions stretchmarks and other things and to be honest its not the first ive heard of using skin bleaching to disguise stretchmarks but the only thing that concerens me is one it sounds almost too good to be true and is likely to be very expensive and two I have no problem with the colour that I am, I love my complexion and where the skin is scar free its beautiful and clear and a nice rich glowy brown and i love my colour and dont really wanna mess about with what nature gave me to such an extent but if this is the only thing that may work maybe i'll just have to do it.
Has anyone tried it before or heard of it and would you recommend it. I just need some advice.
Another reason why im in such a hurry is that its my brithday in summer and ive booked a beach holiday. I would love to wear a
bikini and show of my figure with no concerns. Im not vain and i dont expect miracles, to be honest if i could just were a one piece halter swimsuit or something sexy for my age group I'd be happy. Right now I cant even wear a vest cos of my shoulders and upper arms. I know im waffling but i'll continue!
I went to a laser clinic the other day and she qouted me £125 per session for 6-7 seeions to get rid of my stretchmarks on my uper arms and shoulders so I could wear vests. Do you think thats worth it? Has anyone tried it she said they use a blue or yellow dye laser first to flatten the skin and normalise the texture and stimulate collegen then some other laser to match the skin colour. Sounds promising but who knows she could just be after my money and although she assured me it was safe and was of darker complexion than me i dont know how safe these lasers are on dark skin. ANy ideas comments?!
