How do you respond to emails from women?

Postby guest25 on Wed May 11, 2005 4:16 am

How do you respond to emails from women? Like from a women you've never met before and they ask you a question, showing some kind of interest in trying to discover a new friend or relationship.

I always find that they write a single question and keep it really short. I could just answer it, or answer it and then reply with a similar question, or make a complement on something I've noticed about them on the forums and then answer it... or write a huge story. I'm not really sure how to persue it.

One area of mind tells me to just respond with a simple answer, but the other side of me is coming up with all of these options. I guess this is a simple thing, but is there some kind of principle to it that is good to follow to keep the conversation going? I know this is actually nothing in the grand scheme of things, but I'm more interested in learning than failing or succeeding, but if I guess I just want it to last longer so I learn more. Heh.

if women actually would email me? well in that case, I'd go on this really long and pointless story that goes nowhere and then I start talking about the geekiest things I do in painfully thorough detail.

I wonder why none of them ever write back... could it be possible the opening line "I have genital herpis" not be working?

but seriously though, you should just write to however you feel is sufficient for the occassion. it really depends on the women. the most important thing to me is just trying to be friendly, non-threatening, and polite.

I kind of thought the same thing. This email though doesn't give me much to go on:

I see you live in PROVINCE... I do as well, what city are you from??

I mean, how do I respond to that?

Hi ABC, I live in XYZ. Where do you live?

Hi ABC, I noticed that you have a real gift for helping people out on the forums. I live in XYZ.

Hi ABC, I live in XYZ, the city with the most strip clubs in PROVINE.

I dunno. Too many options. I've never done this before.

"I see you live in PROVINCE... I do as well, what city are you from??"

(First of all I would definitely write more than what you've listed thus far. You need to capture her attention and let her know you're interested in learning more about her)

Response:

Hi___. Thanks for the email. I live in___. What area of Province are you from? Have you always lived in Province?

If you know anything else about her, inquire more. A compliment or two would be nice as well. It shows you're interested. It's also good to add a thing or two about yourself if it seems appropriate. I know, that part can be hard. Well it is for me, unless I am asked about something in particular, but not too personal (in the beginning). You might ask her age if you don't already know it. Also, it's always nice to read something funny or at least something that makes you smile, right? However, I do recommend leaving out the strip club part so as not to risk her thinking that you may be a pervert. Just keep it casual, but interesting.

Hope this helps!

Thanks! Actually, the strip club part was more of a joke. It's just that my city has about 12 strip clubs for a size of 200,000 people. But I know a girl wouldn't care one way or another, and it's not exactly the impression I want to give. I'll give it a go a see what happens. If nothing happens, I'll try something difference next time.

why are you emailing women you have never met? My advice is that you should grow a pair of balls and go and chat to some hot women!!

Well that was just plain rude!

FYI-My boyfriend and I emailed back and forth for almost 2 months before we met. And guess what, it worked out and we're very happy. Oh yeah, and we're both hot!
