Please remind me not to be so stupid

Postby eecl on Mon May 24, 2004 3:06 pm

I'm a happily married woman with two young children and a great husband.

But recently, I've started fancying a younger man who I see occasionally from a distance. We have not made contact and I do not intend to do so. But the fantasy is beginning to become obsessive. I know what it is and that I have probably made up a whole entire personality which is very appealing but has no reality. I'd would be great to hear your perspectives.

Well you've said it yourself. Don't be stupid! These things can grow into obsessions and then when you least expect it something happens and you find you have made a move you will regret forever.

Since you say you are in a happy marriage (and I suspect that puts you in a minority) why risk it for a quick thrill.

If you can't get it out of your mind talk to your husband about it and tell him that you have decided that you are absolutely not going to do anything about it. That will help stiffen your resolve.

Everyone looks over the fence once in a while. The grass looks greener and the new mowing smells so nice. But you don't have to jump over and roll in the clippings. Just enjoy the knowledge that everything is working OK,

 Hey eecl, dont be so stupid

There I said it.

Actually this is not that uncommon, remember that it is just a fantasy and everything will be just fine.
