| It's my sister's birthday today and her bf got her an engagement ring. But instead of being happy, she is upset. She des not like the ring and can not imagine to wear it. She hates that the diamond looks very miserable, it is only 0.15 ct. She would need your advice, because she is really crushed. |

she's crushed !!
my engagement ring is not a whopping diamond, i dnt exactly no wot carrat, i no the rough price was couple of hundred, but i wasnt bothered about tht, for all i care it could of been out the 50p machince on skegness fare
she sounds very ungrateful & very materialistic, is the thought, and he must love her very much to prepose, isn't that what is important, she should learn to be more grateful. |

| Tell her to give it back and finish with him because it looks like all she will ever give him is grief. |

Tell her to dump the miserly git.....or at least demand that the price should be 1000 quid and that if the diamond isn't the size of a house then there is no point in buying it.
Some guys just don't understand women!!! |

Eeek! Its all getting a bit heated here! To be fair though, it should be thought that counts.
However, I have always advised other lady friends that if you can choose your jewellery, you should, as maybe its not the size of the diamond, just the style that she doesn't like??? |

Totally disagree with most people here. This is something that she's gonna wear for the rest of her life and while cost can only be what they can afford surely they could look for the rings together?
And if they're getting married soon and she can't broach this subject maturely and gratefully (as in thanks for the thought and could we go out and choose one together instread) then maybe they shouldnt be getting married at all. Isn't communication supposed to be the key?! |

| I chose my own engagement ring but picked one that I liked the look of and that we could afford. I wasnt bothered if it had no carats! I am the one that has to wear it! |

| Ah well I am drawing on past experiance here! I got engaged 4 years ago and married 2 years ago band separated 7 months ago! Its true that if you live with someone for a long time (10 years in my case) then get married, it will prolly get f*cked up! Me and the ex are still friends tho. All amicable. |
