Apparently you have not experienced what Roy is going through. When you have a family member who is battling cancer, you find that you will do things to help the individual cope with their battle. Some will shave their heads, some will wear ribbons, and Roy has chosen to paint his toe nails. If you will go back and read his post again, you will see why he paints his toe nails and for this, I applaude him.

I have painted my toe nails in the past and like how they look as well. It is only nail polish and has nothing to do with one's sexuality, it is simply something they choose to do. Men pierce their ears (as well as other body parts), people (men and women) get tattoos, others wear various pieces of jewelry.

Roy, I hope your wife wins her battle and you continue to paint your nails! Best wishes to you and your wife.

How can you say that I "have not experienced what Roy is going through" and that I've never had "a family member who is battling cancer"? Your only basis for that comment is that it makes no sense to me what Roy painting his toenails has to do with his wife battling cancer.

You could not be more wrong. Two members of my immediate family have battled cancer whilst we lived in the same house. One had throat cancer and the other testicular cancer. I supported them both unconditionally in their battles.

Each of my parents died from terminal illnesses that were not cancer. I supported them both unconditionally in their battles.

So how ignorant does that make you? Sorry, I take that question back. I can't expect an ignoramus to quantify their own ignorance.

Thank you for your kind words. We have been through a lot and this toe painting has become a tradition for us.
Now for the guest that got defensive. You had a right to. I certainly understand your strength in dealing with your parents and those around you that you supported through cancer. I salute you wholeheartedly. Your dedication to them is a testament of your love to serve. I know that love was
felt by those people. You gave them more than you know. Your compassion is a strong medicine. I'm sorry you got misunderstood. All of us deal with things differently. You have your ways and like our other guest said, I do things my way. Of course I'm not gay for painting my toe nails. It's all in fun for her. I admit I like the looks of them and the colors but so what. Life is short for some so enjoy the ride. Party Smile

Sure, why not? It's fun and it sure looks better than most guys' toes that don't get much care or attention. Just don't do it cheezy, get a pedicure and have it done right, so it looks decent.
Colors? Depends on what you're up for. I tend not to do reds and pinks because I think they look a bit girlish. But, blues, maroons, browns and grays, - even black (or a very dark shade of any color) looks pretty good on men's feet.
How did I get started? I owe it to a very wonderful and micheivous lady who was not afraid to take me past my comfort zone.
Is it not accepted by some? Yup, but that doesn't mean much to me since I know that I cannot please everyone. Besides, life's too short not to have a little fun now and then, right?
I suggest you try it before you decide if it's not for guys. Find a gal with fun and adventurous attitude and give it a try!

Smile Hi, i've been painting my toenails since age 4. it started with a babysitter. i'm now 46 years old. i'm not gay at all, i'm perfectly straight and i love to see women with verry pretty feet as my former babysitter had. i think it's perfectly ok for a guy to paint his toenails. half of the population loves it and the other half does'nt care for it. i've dated women who only want to date a guy who has very pretty feet. they can't stand being under the sheets playing footsies with a guy who has nasty filthy ugly feet. but i think especially the guys who are gifted with very good looking feet as i do should do this, even if it's just the french pedicure. i only date women who have perfect beautiful feet, it's a very fun and sexy encounter. you would be a bit surprised of how many women that want to get into this with a guy, you just have to really look for them. lastly, for you people who think it's so weird, check your history, the romans and the greeks(men) did it back in the old days. besides, i have no doubt that you are doing something that someone else might find to be quite weird. so think about that before you start criticizing men who paint their toenails!
