Are you ready to fight for freedom of men to wear all they like from tights to high heels?

It is about time we men came out into the open and exercised our god given right to freedom of choice which must include what we decide to wear.

A few high profile celebs. exercising that freedom would help immensly.

How about some ideas on what can be done to achieve the goal.

The word crossdress should be banned fro the language. I can wear what I want without my sexuality being questioned, why can't men? Being trapped in 'the wrong body' is no excuse for men not being able to wear what they want. I've seen plenty of women in clothes meant for women that look silly or out of place on them, and seen men in skirts and they look 'cool'.

Rights are not 'God given' they are by personal choice. We are told 'we are all God's children' then when a homosexual tries to join the clergy all hell breaks loose.

Jean Paul Gaultier designed skirts for men and even wore some on Eurotrash. The press ridiculing Devid Beckam for wearing a sarong and claiming it was a skirt didn't help, considering tens of thousands of men across Africa and Asia wear them as everyday items.

The reason you possibly don't know many men that wear tights, high heels etc, is because they are afraid to admit it. Would you ask a woman to get a sex change if she prefers to wear mens shirts and jeans and 'boy pants'? No, well why are you asking men to spend thousands on a gender rebuild for the sake of a handful of clothes! We are supposed to be in an equal society. The hell we are.

Women screamed for years for equality, then scream again when it's carried out. It makes me ashamed sometimes to be a female.

I don't mind my boyfriend trying my stuff for a laugh, and I certainly don't question his sexuality when he is doing an impression of trying to nail my pussy to the mattress during lovemaking.

I used 'god given' euphamistically in my first post - of course choice is all about personal freedom.

I am not a cross dresser nor am I female trapped in a male body. I merely would like to wear shorts throughout the winter but the old 'pegs' get chilly so what better solution than a pair of winter weight tights. I can't though because of the outdated viewpoint, as illustrated by the illiterate 'bandit40' and '80', it could invite ridicule directed at me or, most importantly, my wife and son which I want avoid.

tights are just another item of clothing as far as I am concerned and anyone who wishes to wear them should be allowed to do so without being made to feel guilty or ashamed about it.

Isn't it truly, deeply, madly boring when you enter a large office and all the men are somehow wearing the same - there are little differences concerning the shades of grey in their suits...
And if you are looking for men's *a**a* - lods of functional leather stuff and messenger bags - and then. Or men's jewellery... Oh, I could go on and on.
And it starts when you look at boys clothes - the usual boutiques have a lot of stuff in dark grey, blue, brown and black - what about the other colours????

Definitely hope for more freedom and more brave men!!

We need lots of brave men to go public and we also need lots of female supporters to publicly help fight our corner.

Articles in male and female fashion magazines may raise the plight of the 'fashion un-emancipated' male and set the ball rolling for a see change in viewpoint (won't hold my breath though).

So any budding journalist types out there prepared to write to mags - now there's a challenge??

I can't find any pictures _ right now, but recently in newspapers here in Scotland there have been pictures of the Glasgow Rangers team in training, and some of the players are in shorts and heavy black tights. Ally McCoist wears them too and he is assistant manager.

The tights keep there muscles warmed up and supple. The female dancers you see on television, almost all of them wear 'danceskin' tights which makes there legs look natural, but again it keeps there muscles supple.

If you don't allow men to wear tights, it's like saying their legs are less important than womens.

We don't just need brave men to start wearing skirts etc, we need a more tolerant society as well.

This inequality is most obvious at formal functions where women can really have some fun dressing up, whereas all the guys are forced to wear the same suit. It's like the opposite of scenes you see in strict muslim countries where all the men wear what they want, but the women are all wearing the same black burka or whatever. If a woman turns up wearing something different, she'll be ridiculed & probably beaten with a stick...by the men AND the other women. A bit like how a guy in a so-called free western country walking around in a dress or skirt would be treated!

As Moira says we need a tolerant society but before that can happen society needs to understand that it has been intolerant in the first place. Society perceives men dressing in clothes that aren't traditionally worn by them as wrong and until there is a change in perception that view will subsist. It really relies on men, supported by women, getting out there and dressing as they please - though this is a lot easier said than done of course - who will be the first??

I've always wondered whether these young lads you see shuffling around the street with the crotches of their trousers around there knees are actually wearing a skirt or dress underneath. This is what happens to the crotch of your trousers when you convertly wear a dress/ skirt underneath them..... Maybe the next fashion move for these guys should be from low-slung crotch to no-crotch; ie..a long skirt. Some of them you see are almost there!

I occasionally wear women's trousers to work these days because I've noticed some of them seem more tailoired & look alot sharper than mens trousers. You have to be very selective though...I don't want to end up looking like Mr Humphries on 'Are you being served'!
It's not very dangerous I know.....but shopping for them can be a bit stressful.

I very occasionally venture out in tights and shorts but I make sure I don't draw attention to myself - e.g. don't wear black tights with beige shorts - dead giveaway.
