There is no need to be embarised when going into a shop that sells girls clothes. With Christmas coming soon, the shop assistants will think you are buying presents for your girlfiend or sister. Their biggest concern is how many sales they can make. They will be very willing to help you with sizes and selecting items that will go well together. The more you shop for girls' clothes, the more confidence you will gain and the easier it will be for you. Good luck.

I used to like the clothes worn by the mother Marion in Happy Days. Lovely smart dresses, flowing skirts, heels.

And I'm a bloke!

I've got a confession to make. I caught my ten year old boy trying on his fourteen year old sister's clothes.

I spanked him.

It felt awful. I'm his mother. Should I have encouraged him to get in touch with his feminine side and talked it through?

You should feel awful too. What you did was child abuse.

Nothing wrong with spanking him for wearing his sister's clothes. A great deal wrong with spanking him for wearing girls' clothes.

The boy should be punished for wearing his sister's cltohes wihtout first asking her permission. He should be punished equally if he were to borrow his brother's or his father's clothes without first asking permission. Of course some people are going to think spanking is the proper punishment while others will say spanking for any reason is child abuse and another form of discipline shoud be applied.

Many boys around puberty have a desire to try on girls' clothes. No one is certain of the reasons for this, although many think it has to do with hormone imbalances resulting from the onset of puberty. Boys (and girls) going through puberty have enough problems transitioning from children to adults without adding guilt to desires over which they have no control.

I don't exactly accept that, speaking as the father of four boys.

Every father of boys has a right to his opinion. I am a father of 3 boys...and 2 girls. And, quite frankly, I do accept what the guest wrote. Crossdressing is NOT something that you can "just give up" as you seem to think, Colonel, any more than most people can "just give up" smoking, or crack cocaine, for that matter.

It is an addiction, far more powerful than the first two I mentioned, because it is an addiction to a particular endorphin mix inside the brain. I would even go so far as to say that it is even more addicting than, say, the addiction some relatively few men have to sexual predation or pedophilia--because they have to go out and get their "fix" from someone else, whereas all a crossdresser has to do is THINK about what turns him on. NO ONE, and that includes YOU, Colonel, apparently, who has never crossdressed, has even an iota of understanding of what the particular "fix" is that results from it. Those who have experienced some form of substance addiction have some understanding, but "pure as the driven snow" types, such as, again apparently, yourself, are excluded from that category as well.

And none of my sons are gay, and none are crossdressers either. BTW, Your definition of Homophobic differs substantially from mine. I take the term's meaning literally--phobia means fear. Period. It doesn't mean "aversion to", or "prejudice against", and it sure as hell doesn't mean "disapproval of". The all-inclusive definition is very convenient for people like you and GandP, because it enables you to use it against ANYONE who says anything at all against what you perceive as the truth about homosexuality.

I agree he should have asked for permission. How ever he shouldn't have received a spanking for it. No child should ever get a spanking for what ever reason it is assault .

If a adult hits another adult it is assault and you can be charged for it. Yet if a adult hits a child its okay.

No wonder society is full of violence because it starts at home. And it sends the wrong message to the child who thinks hitting is okay.
