| Is this a fair statement to make in the 21st century? I know plenty of fashionable men, however there is still the issue of men not caring about fashion or their appearance. Do you agree with this statement or like me strongly disagree?[/quote] |

I'm with you - I also strongly disagree with that view...
That is overgeneralising - many men may be "unfashionable" (but then that becomes their fashion, in a way, doesn't it ?); but these days a lot of young women in Britain, USA and Oz' also seem to have become dowdy, sloppy and boring, as well - haven't they.
Neither state of being - fashionable or unfashionable - should be considered as gender based anymore these days, should it ?

| Yeah i totally agree with you- however would you look at a guy who looks really fashionable and come to assumption he must be gay as he dresses well- as this always tends to be the case- for instance with a group of girls- they'll look at a guy- who looks fashionable and be like' well he's fashionable must be gay?' personally i don't agree with this- however do you think that a male is still masculine if he looks trendy or is dressed flamboyantly? |

Men have traditionally been restricted (by society) to wear a much narrower choice of clothing. It is only very recently that more men are starting to wear skirts and kilts (worn as normal male garments rather than as crossdressing) and are starting to rebel against compulsory wearing of ties in the office.
Men are at last waking up to the right to freedom of expression in fashion and to equality with women. Here's to full freedom of fashion expression for all (both men and women equally) and a brighter more interesting world for all. |

| I don't think that is true. I think that many men are unfashionable yes, probably moreso than women...but there are still a lot of unfashionable women too. |
