Personally, I do not see the point in that tights poll there. Reasons being, tights were invented by men, for MEN in years gone by. This is a modern world now, and we are taking them back, as unisex wear! Women faced alot of crap when they first wanted to wear trousers, why should we face crap for wearing tights? This is a modern equality world!

Thoughts in polls should not matter, because quite frankly men are wearing tights again, and that's simply fact! Live with it and be happy!

Yes - you are right it seems that more and more men are wearing tights (and stockings for that matter) but not openly. The reason - ridicule.

This is, of course, in contrast to women in the sixties and seventies wearing what they wanted when they wanted very openly and without being accused of being a cross-dresser, pervert, weirdo etc.

Men, en masse, will need to exercise their freedom to wear what they want and when they want and until that time we will always be 'closet wearers'.

i was worried about what people might say about a man wearing tights but its never as bad as you think, none of my friends think any less of me i mostley wear them under my jeans or trousers when working but sometimes on the week end or going out i will wear 3/4 lenghts and have even been known to wear smart shorts or a skirt when out clubbing usually with patterned tights then just to make more of a point maybe ive been lucky but i have yet to have any grief over wearing what i want, people dont care eitherway

I wear tights under shorts at home in the winter to keep my legs warm but I also enjoy wearing them.

Some of my friends know that I wear them and accept it but when I told another female friend that I sometimes wore tights at home she said "I didn't know you were a cross-dresser'. Now she accepts that I am not a cross-dresser or pervert or weirdo but this is just the very reaction that is common.

I think you have been lucky.

For my own part I would be publically open about what I wear but I have a wife and teenage son (both of whom accept me wearing tights) to consider and I don't want to subject them to ridicule or worse.

The majority of men who wear tights (for whatever reason) do so covertly because social conventions considers it a taboo to do so.

To convince the majority of the populace that tights, stockings, skirts etc are only items of clothing that really are unisex will take some concerted effort.

Men wearing stockings, tights or pantyhose

I wasn't going to reply to this at first but, it got me thinking.

First of all, my b/f wears stockings and a garterbelt on occasion. It started off a few years ago after he lost a friendly bet. I think he looks sexy.

I can't speak for all women but, I don't have any problem with this. The thought of men wearing stockings as being taboo melted away the day I saw (and bought) his/hers matching garterbelts in a lingerie shop.

There are women out there that are turned off by this practice, just as there are men who are turned off by the sight of a woman wearing as well. It's just a matter of preferance.

Hi all Gals

If men want to wear stockings, tights or pantyhose, well We should not infringe on the rights of men to wear pantyhose in public.I think it is men's democratic right to wear panyhose.Men who wear pantyhose and tights should not fall victim to other people's negative opion.Men should feel free wear pantyhose in public,We should not dictate or prejudice the rights people if we live in a free and democratic society.Who are we tell other what to do.It is there lives anyway and men should feel free to wear any clothing. What is sick in a democratic society is people enforcing and imposing there will, feeling, beliefs and opinion
onto other people.

Agree with you wholeheartedly Bitch.

Normality is a concept - a given state at a given time that is susceptible to change. Thus what is normal today may not be normal tomorrow. Men that want Fashion Freedom have to initiate that change and it is heartening that so many women support that change. :)

You all have played follow the leader your whole life. That's why you all dress safe and the same. I live in LA and you might find one female in
twenty that is even wearing pumps or a skirt. Women don't want to be women anymore but they still want to control the game. Women now are so butch and lazy when it comes to being fem why would you guys care what they thought? Sweats or jeans is the uniform of the day with flip flops and bad peticures. We will have yet another year of PINK writen across fat asses driving pick up trucks and they will be driven by these women who are so hell bent on you guys stepping out of the box. But in all fairness my girlfriends and boyfriends laugh at the jogging suit dykes
with the baseball caps on because from the looks of them they are not running anywhere but to eat. So guys step out and maybe show the man-girls what fashion is all about.

I love wearing pantyhose / tights

Postby F288 on Wed Apr 09, 2008 1:07 pm

Out of all the things that a woman could wear / not wear, pantyhose / stockings are the things that I appreciate the most. I used to think that it was just a fetish thing of mine until one day I decided that I would wear them to try and overcome the fetish. That day, I worked out how absolutely great they feel on and how they help in reducing leg fatigue, provide warmth when working in cold data centres and they just feel special.

Recently, I have been wearing skin coloured tights, 15 denier under my jeans, but without socks. No one notices as my leg colour is similar to the shade that I wear (Suntan).

Women alone shouldn't have the monopoly on this style of lush clothing, Wallace Carouthers invention (nylon) is good for both genders.
