I keep dreaming that there's this horrible, dreary cathedral. In the dream, it's always in the same place, in a certain area in the town I live in. However in real life the cathedral doesn't exist.

I get there and the building is absolutely beautiful... I'm so thrown into awe by it that my head is looking up, checking out the structures and statues on the banisters above me.

Then I step on something and look down, and the whole floor is covered with rotting pigeons. The floor goes on for miles and miles, except you can't actually see the floor because there's so many freakin dead pigeons.

And then loads of other, live, pigeons fly down from the banisters and start eating the dead. I hear crying and I turn around, and surrounded by the dead pigeons is a pink pram, standing out in contrast to the horrible black / dreary atmosphere of the cathedral.

I go over to the pram and there's a little girl in it, crying, pointing at one of the dead pigeons who'd basically rotted so much that it had turned into liquid and only it's insides were left. She's pointing and shouting, between her tears: "pigeon! Pigeon!" and then I wake up =/

What the hell ?! I've had this dream on and off for the past year or so.

Random guess:

The little girl in the carriage might be you. And when you were younger you might have seen a dead bird, probably a pigeon, and that upset you at the time.

You never got a satisfactory explanation for it then, but it has crept into your subconsciousness.

Or, perhaps you have a general concern regarding death in general, and how the dead are treated. Certainly with the pristine church nearby, there seems to be a connection with it being a very solemn event, almost other-worldly.

I looked up pigeons in 3 different dream reference books and they each say a different thing. Pigeons are used a messenger birds and the fact that you dream of dead pigeons may mean you will receive a message abouot a dead relative. Another definition said that pigeons can mean dissolution if they are wild pigeons or peace and honesty if they are tame.
