I dont think you should be scared. Your parents should be more understanding than most. You need to tell them how you feel.

How ever you are 12 years old so you body is changing and so are your feelings. You shouldn't label yourself as a cross dresser just yet. It could be just a phase that you are going through which a lot of boys go through.

I have a similiar prob, I'm a crossdresser. (not gay) I am just a normal boy who has crossdressing urges. I havent told my lespian parents yet, but when i was 7 my other mom (not 1 i came out of) only let my aunt paint one of my nails. I'm scared to be rejected by me parents. i LOVE painting my nails but i never have time where i can get it off. i also love makeup but have none of my own. i love fem clothes but i got none. i do have a set of fake nails which i protect with my life. i dont know where to get clothes and when to do it.

Since your parents are lesbians they most likely went through much anxiety and fear before coming out in public. They are aware that everyone is their own person and that some of us are different from others. In other words, they may be much more sympathetic to your desire to paint your nails, use makeup and wear girls' clothes than you think. They will also caution you about the teasing you would receive from your friends and classmates if they ever found out about your desires. They may be willing to let you dress the way you want, but only in the safety of your own home.

You can approach the whole idea very gently with a comment or two and see how your parents react. For example, when you see a person with pretty nails, particularly a girl about your own age, you could say, "Gee, it's too bad boys can't make their nails look nice like hers." Then see how your parents react. They may say something that will tell you not to bring the subect up again, but they could also ask if you would like to have nice nails like the girl. When walking through a shop with girls' or womens' clothes, you could comment that a particular skirt or top looks "pretty" or "cute". Again, your parents reaction could range from "Forget it" to "How do you think you would look in something like that?"

Many 12 year old boys find the whole world of girls' clothes, makeup and nail polish fascinating, even though they would never admit it to anyone. You are about to enter puberty when a lot of hormonal changes take place inside your body. You will probably have a lot of anxiety, confusion and changes in your interests until your hormones settle down. You may outgrow your desire for girls' things, or that desire may continue for the rest of your life. It is too soon to say whether or not you are really a crossdresser. But in any case, your parents may turn out to be your most loyal supporters in whatever lifestyle you choose.

12 YO:

I also think your parents might understand. You can start hinting them. talk them about cross-dressers and see what they say, maybe.

I mean a lesbian couple should, it doesn't mean they necessarily would, though.

With summer coming on, here is an idea you can try now. Tell your parents you would like some shorts for this summer. When you go shopping, choose a pair of very wide leg loose fitting shorts that come down to just above your knees. Get them in as girly color as you can find, usually a light pastel. Put on the shorts and stand with your legs close together so the material between your legs does not show and shorts will look like you are wearing a skirt. Practice this a bit until you get a good 'skirt' effect. Then, when your parents are nearby, stand in front of a full length mirror and say, "Gee, these shorts look like I am wearing a skirt." Then you can make a comment about how nice you would look in a skirt and see where the conversation goes from there.

Another variation on this is to ask a very trusted friend (boy or girl) to help you. Wear the shorts and stand with your legs together when you parents are nearby. Have your friend say how nice of how cute you look in your 'skirt' when your parents are close enough to hear the comment. Then you can thank your friend for the compliment, but that you are really wearing shorts. Then say, "Gee, I guess a skirt would look nice on me." This should draw your parents into the conversation and you are already talking about wearing a skirt.
