qz, that sounds like there were some problems going on already, that had nothing to do with the 3-some situation.
I think that's a problem a lot of people have, that they blame on the group sex thing, when really it's an unrelated problem that screwed up the relationship.
This goes with the arguement as to whether or not humans are naturally monogamous, and the purpose of sex.
Depending on your feelings of either of those issues probably has everything to do with your feelings on wife sharing.
...and on the question how realistic it is in our modern society, to deny one's wife to have extramarital sex.
Let's not forget than unlike men, women get sollicited all the time, and they are human after all. While I'm convinced that humans are relationally or emotionally monogamous, this does not mean that we would be sexually monogamous as well.
