A lot of people are doing that, guest. Going to the pub isn't always just about getting ripped, it is about having fun meeting people or friends, and getting home alive.

I say go for it, live a little.

I can't see any reason why you should drink alcohol in a pub if you don't want to.

I doubt if anyone will even notice, but something like ginger beer which could be anything such as a whisky drink, or coke which a lot of people mix with vodka or bacardi won't attract attention. Who's to know whether or not your coke has a double vodka in it?

More to the point... who cares?
Obviously this person doesn't frequent pubs often, as lots of people don't drink in them.
And more to the point, you have to be at least 18, by that point, you should be beyond the stage of... oh what if so and so doesn't like it? Do your own thing! Stop worrying about the rest of the world and their opinions.
