Pill

Postby Juliet22 on Wed May 14, 2008 4:52 pm

Hi guys,

I've read so many things on this case and thought I'd share what I've learned.

I've been on the pill for 7 years so far and am still going with it as I'm not ready for children yet. I too was worried that it would take me years to get pregnant and that the pill would slow me down which is why I decided I will come off it about 2 years in advance.

My findings on the matter were:

The pill does not stop you having children. In fact, every 'fake' period you have on the pill, the body (in terms of hormones) goes back to its normal state and so the body adapts rapidly. The irregular periods is not an effect from the pill, it is your natural body.

How it works is your period cycle changes every few years, sometimes becomes more regular, sometimes less regular. However, when you're on the pill, you have no idea how your natural cycle is. If you have irregular periods when you come off the pill, that is because that is your natural cycle and would have happened even without ever taking the pill. It will change again and become more frequent.

In reality, the pill is more natural for your body than not. As crazy as this sounds, in nature your bodies want you to be pregnant all the time. Because of modern society, we do not allow this and spend ears having periods. This goes against nature. The pill consists of natural hormones to make your body think it is always pregnant, which is a good state for the vody to be in.

So please don't stress. And don't worry about the pill there are no signs that it prevents you having a baby, You will all get pregnant eventually.

coming off pill

Postby mini510_0 on Thu Jun 05, 2008 12:06 pm

I thought i would just share my experience. I came off Marvelon 5 1/2 weeks ago. i am extremely bloated and none of my clothes fit. I also have sore boobs but other than that feel pretty normal. I had the EWCM on tues which is supposed to be a sign of ovulation so i timed things right with hubby and we'll wait and see! I'm hoping to be one of the ones that gets caught straight away but you never know. fingers crossed!

pregnancy?

Postby cdk072008 on Fri Aug 01, 2008 2:12 pm

s it a bad move on my part to have had unprotected sex before getting my next period after stopping the pill to try to have a baby? im 33 had been on marvelon 21 for 14 years i stopped on july 5 should have taken new pack on july 13 but diidnt had sex on july 25 its august 1 and i feel a bit weird.
is it symptoms of coming off the pill or of pregnancy.
they say you should wait at least til you get the next period before trying for a baby as you then will not know if you are pregant since you ahve to wait and see i youve mlissed a period to know.
im completely lost. should be just keep having unprotected sex and hope for a baby. when can i test to see if i am pregant? i know its only been a week but im stressed already as i think we ve gone about it all wrong??? anyone with some input?

Prenancy and coming off the pill

Postby Musty on Sat Aug 09, 2008 9:44 am

Hi All

Please don't worry....I came off the pill 4 weeks ago. iIstopped taking it half way through the packet, I had one period 3 days after which falls into my ntural cycle but now no period. I am bloated and have sore breasts but this is normal, I have been pumping hormones into my body for 10 years and now all of a sudden I have stopped - our bodies are bound to be put out of sink.....i thought I might be pregant beuase of the bloating and sore breats but I think this is just becuase of stopping the pill.

I am going to remain relaxed about becoming pregnant, it will happen when it happens....everything for a reason as one wise man said once.

Enjoy the intimate time with you partner now, becuase when you do become a parent I am sure that goes out the window for a bit

Good luck to you all.

trying to get pregnant after the pill

Postby kaz war on Mon Aug 25, 2008 9:10 pm

Hi all,

I am 31 and me and my husband decided to start trying for a baby after we got married last year. I came of the pill in October 2007 it's now nearly the end of August and still no joy !!! I am frustrated as everyone around me seems to keep falling pregnant without even trying ! It is hard to stay positive , every one keeps saying your time will come etc and don't stress but it's not easy ! I haven't been to the docs yet and wondered how long people think I should wait until I get checked out ??? :( [/b]

hi all

me and my husband decided to try for a baby, so i stopped the pill, cilest, on aug 3rd and had a slight bleed 3 days later. After reading about other peoples stories on this site and many others about how long it would take, i thought it would be a good few months before i became pregnant but on the 30th of aug i bought a pregnancy test out of the blue thinking it would come back negative but i was just being curious and to my surprise i could see the faintest of lines in the window so much so that my husband cound not see it! so 2 days later i used the other test and the line was stronger so now im waiting for my appointment with my gp!!!!!!

good luck to all trying

trying for a baby

Postby misc on Mon Sep 15, 2008 11:13 am

I came of the pill end of july as me and my partner have decided to try for a baby. I had my last period on the 6th August and was due again the end of august but so far nothing, although I have had all the usual symptoms but worse, sore breasts, extreme bloating, and mood swings :-). I have done two pregnancy tests but both negative, even though I timed sex this month to when I was most likely to fall... So I guess as I have been on the pill for 14 years it may take some time for my cycles to become regular. Im due to start ovulating again end of this week so I will see what happens and will try again....hopefully I will get pregnant or I will have my period soon..My mum never had any probs and she had 8 children and my sisters all have children without any problems either so I will keep you posted guys, but one thin I have learnt over the last few weeks its to try and stay relaxed about the whole situation, if you get to anxious and upset then this will have an affect on your boddy, stress with the worst!!!! :-)

Hey

Don't worry too much, you have been on the pill for some time it will take time for your body to get back into a normal routine, make sure that you drink lots of water and eat well and don't get stressed and your body will start to settle down. Its better to have a few periods before falling pregnant so it gets back into a normal routine.

Good Luck
