Worried Mother

I would not worry about wearing nappies/pads/protection for your incontinence. As the posts reflect, you are far from alone.

I am incontinent myself and like Jenny and others, I find my protection to be comfortable, secure and personally even sensual.

Whether you should wear nappies or plastic pants is a matter of taste. However, be aware that plastic pants alone will not have a solution for soaking up any accidents.
Personally I wear disposable nappies. They have a great capacity and through their great protection make me feel secure and relaxed. I do not have to worry about embarrassing accidents when out and about, and they make it possible for me to lead a normal active life.

This said, I will also recommend that you talk with your doctor. Today there are various ways of handling incontinence, ranging from operations, exercises and medicine to using protection. Or a combination of one or more.

Warm thoughts,
Kathy :-)

You should first put on a diaper then pull a pair of plastic panties over them. After you do that come see me and I'll read you a nice story.

Recently I have been buying them on line from www.fetware.com who specialise in adult diapers and plastic pants and have a wide range of some very pretty styles. I wet myself without even realising it but I always keep my dresses and skirts dry. I felt very self conscious having to wear diapers at first but now its no problem and they make me feel secure. never too old- bedwetting

I'm 25 this year and I still wear adult nappies under my clothes at night cos. of bedwetting which resurfaced when I was 21. I wet the bed at my mums twice in a row and she asked if I needed nappy protection, she agreed to treat it privately when I told her I should maybe use terry nappies. Before I wore till I was nearly 14 so have prety much grown up in them and she knows of my history. I dislike Tena or kotex pads and for cost and comfort wear two terry towelling nappies ands plastic pants, not surprisingly are manufactured in adult sizes bearing extra thickness and with greater wetness capacity.I think its normal that women have bladder weakness and Im not embarassed now but was at first. I alos like the security I get.

Wearing nappies

I had to wear a nappy for two years at night in my late teens because of bed wetting. My mum was very good about it and put the nappy on me at night and removed the wet one in the morning. I came to enjoy being in a nappy and continued to wear one at night after the wetting stopped. I'm 29 still living at home and wear a nappy 24/7 and often wet during the day and at night. I sometimes soil at night. I feel so secure and will wear a nappy for as long as I can.

Good for you Caroline. I don't see why people seem to make such a big thing about wearing nappies. Many millions of women and men suffer from some sort of incontinence and if they feel more secure and confident wearing a nappy, whether it be 24/7 or just at night, I really don't see the problem. As I have said before, I often wear some form of protection if I think I am not going to be able to get to a nice clean loo when I need to go. Surely this is better than risking the embarrassment of a wet patch and anything is better than wetting the bed which just causes so much work.

But doesnt that make you feel a bit awkward ?? esp being that age and still living at home and wearing diapers and there is no medical reason as to why you would wear them anymore.

I know I could NEVER be one of those adult babies or whatever you call them and wear nappies and enjoy wtting in them it would just feel awkward and it would be just socially embarrassing for me.

If I became incontinent and had to wear nappies for the rest of my life I am for sure that I would be very depressed and very distressed by it let alone wear them for the fun of it.

I mean I respect your differences BUT I dont really understand it, its ok if your say about 5 years old but in your 20s.
It's not WHAT you do it's the WAY that you do it. And THAT'S what gets results !!

I had the same problem after giving birth, mine with the kregl device took about a month, so with 5 kids, 3 still in diapers I had all the supplies I needed and just wore cloth diapers and plastic pants for a month.

Some seen, some heard but everyone was understanding for I did not try to hide nor did I care either way for this does happen to new mothers. This was 6 months ago and have another on the way.

God Bless, hope everything else is going great and you and the baby are bonding well with your new one.
