My Mrs is 17 weeks pregnant with our first child. And neither of us have any friends who have had kids. This is a question regarding sex during pregnany... DOes the cervix cange porition while your pregnant, I would guess that it drop or changes position to accomodate the growing sprog. Prior to my wife getting pregnant we had a bit of a "me" size issue cos I caused some bruising to her cervix by going to deep. Obviously, after my wife visited the gyne we made some changes to our sex life. Now my wife is worried that I'm going to bang into something and damage her bits and/or the sprog.

Each position seems to be have its own set of problems. Missionary is a good shallow position but then we have the worry about me being on top and pressing down on her belly. On top is way too deep, doggy is uncomfortable on her knees... so as you can see its a bit of a puzzle as to how we can go about enjoying a penetrative sex life... we still have a very active oral and masturbatory sex life.

My wife has read "somewhere" that regular deep sex may cause miscariages especially in the latter stages of pregnancy... is this the case? or an urban myth? are there any permanant internal changes? I have jokingly suggested that the Doc doesn't put as many stiches in - Ok I appreciate that that is poor taste

Hey, ok - just so we're clear i have never been pregnant before so ur not hearing this from a pregnant womans point of view - which may b better. But anyway - i dont really see you two having sex as being a big problem - i mean, they suggest in later pregnancy that sex is one way of encouraging the birthing process to start!

U could type your question into ask jeeves or try a website like www.netdoctor.co.uk or just type 'pregnancy and sex' into google - c what happens.

Gd luck and if all else fails go c ur doc!

Hey mayumi. It's true that you can't really just bang away like you usually do! I would say, whatever position you're in, just take it nice and slow and listen to her.

In my opinion, the best position is the side-by-side spoon position. There's no pressure on anything and it's not too deep.
