Hi everyone,

I am thinking of getting married in Thailand next April (2006) possibly at Koh Samui or Phuket, but all the legal stuff is making my head spin!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get around the legal stuff or thoughts on locations, hotels or any experiences?

much appreciated,

Kaitlyn

Hi Kaitlyn,

We were married in Ko Samui earlier this year and like you, it made our heads spin too. The legal stuff requires lots of running around if you do it yourself, and it's kind of hard to know where to have your wedding if you haven't been to Thailand before. Anyway, to cut a long story short and hopefully help you out, we happened upon a company called Creative Events Asia, through this forum. They were just great. Organised all our legal stuff (which was a big load off our minds - in fact we only had to spend one night in Bangkok to get it all done). They also can organise your wedding in lots of different locations in Thailand at lots of different hotels, so we had a good selection to choose from. In fact, they even arranged our accommodation for us, both in Bangkok and in Ko Samui. Honestly, after seeing all the work they had to do to get our wedding happening, I'm so glad we chose to organise it all through them.
If you want more info. from me, I'm happy to help.
Cheers,
Andi

Very Happy I will contact Creative Events Asia - Are they based in the UK?

Hi Kaitlyn,

I think Creative Events Asia are an Australian company. The consultant who we dealt with was an Aussie woman based in Thailand. I'm pretty sure they handle weddings for any nationality cause I have some friends from the UK who are in the process of planning a wedding in Thailand with them too.

Good luck!

Andi.
