I've invited nearly 300 guests, to our wedding (Yea bit over the top) we both come from big families, how many should I expect to attend, is there a magic percentage, or a way I can find out I don't want to seat everyone and find great big gaps plus having to pay for all the extra meals ect?

Our of 300 I would expect about roughly 190 to turn up. Things happen and sometimes people just can't amke it. Or is that too low?

Val, didn't you have RSVP on the invites? I would normally expect everyone to let you know if they were coming ideally a month but at least two weeks before. That way you have time to adjust the numbers. Even if you haven't asked for RSVP quite a lot of people will let you know and the only thing you can do if they haven't replied is ring them up and ask (it's not pushy to do that) although 300 is quite a lot to ring!!

I would expect about 200+ will say yes provided you have given them reasonable notice, most people try extra hard to get to a wedding.
