Your parents should only expect you to work reasonably hard and do your best, because you can't create acedemic ability. Not everyone can become nero-surgeons, lawyers, or chief executives. As a parent of teenagers, I have only wanted my children to use the abilities they've been given as best they can, and in whatever field they they choose. Overall, I really want them to be happy, and not regret missing opportunities - but I ain't living my life through them, or pushing them into things that they don't want to do. Do what you feel is right for you. You're parents will want to feel proud of you, but it's your life to do what you want with, after all, none of us chose to born, or to be born with particular skills and attributes. If you can be happy - or even better, make someone else happyat the same time - you're a success.
