Driving test, please help

OH MY GOD, i'll have my first driving test in less than 3 weeks time, and i am already super nervous. I have had roughly about 10 hours driving lessons and i have now booked another 20 hours intensive lessons before my test. I know it sound stupid to have booked the test beforehand, but i just want to know exactly WHEN I am taking the test and set a target for myself.

Anyway, does anyone know if intensive course is good? Taking roughly about 2 hours a day over 10 days period. Any advice anyone?

Took my test on Monday (passed first time yay )

I was really really nervous before and during and was convinced I'd failed until the examiner told me I'd passed. Best advice I was given was stay calm and if you are a good driver you will pass (sounds simple but its true!!)

As for intensive courses if you can cope with so much information in a short space of time then they are a good idea.

Just remember the Examiner will only give you basic instructions such as 'turn the car around using forward and reverse gears please' which is their way of asking u to do a three-point turn. They will only say the instruction ONCE, so you must listen carefully. I failed my first test doing parallel parking as the Examiner thought I was too close to the parked car, and intervened using the brake.

If they intervene in any way, you instantly fail.3 crosses on the sheet and you fail too. But don't worry, just use this time to get extra practise in, and ask your instructor to take you to a good Test Centre. I did my first test in Central London, and it was a nightmare!

Enjoy the test and obey all the road signs and dont panic

I'm sure you will do well. If you want a good car once you've passed, look on AutoTrader. (www.autotrader.co.uk) Dont get anything under £1k.

Oh no, cant sleep at night

Hi. My instructor gave me a computer disk with the highway code, multiple choice tests and hazard perception tests on it. Can't remember what the pack is called but try place like WH Smith. They are well worth it. I just did loads and loads of each test until I was getting all the questions correct. I then got 35 out of 35 for my theory and 55 out of 75 for the hazard perception test (I hated that part as it's nothing like being on the raod). Anyway, don't panic, take your time and relax.
