trying to download latest web browser

I'm pretty new to all this computer stuff and I am trying to download the latest web browser, which I think should be Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.I have Windows XP Home Edition and use Broadband of 1kb. When I try to download it gives me the option to choose from - Dial Up, DSL Cable(256k), DSL Cable (768k) or T1 (1.5M) Can anyone tell me i what I should select ? Thanks.

the absolute BEST browser imho is firefox. Its less bulky than Internet Explorer and thus less inherent security bugs, a dozen invaluable addons (adblock is awesome), and many themes (if youre into that)

Definitely go with Firefox - 1.5.0.1 is out now IIRC. IE 6 just can't match it for features. Whats the betting when IE 7 comes out - it will have copied all the Firefox/Mozilla innovations - just typical of Micro$oft - Don't innovate - copy/aquire

Download SeaMonkey 1.5... It's state of the art stuff...

and checkout Everything in preferences...

and look at the bottom right of the screen, for that little disconnect icon...

At the top, click Window.. and click Composer...

In Tools you can manage everything that comes into the browser...

Those Mozilla folks are pure Genius...

I hate IE, and use Firefox, Opera, Avant, anything but IE.
IE has released the Beta of IE7, they've gone the whole tabbed browsing thing, etc. It's stable, no problems to report.

If you don't want IE to be a bother.. download the freebie version of "Tiny Personal Firewall"... then get into TPF's advanced settings, and "block and message".. everything IE, and most of the microsoft stuff.. and even the firewall... Heck!.. block everything, and force it to ask permission to contact the Net... and secure the administration authority with a password...

You can't run Windows without IE in the system... so don't be up and uninstalling IE, nor OE, or you will soon need to format-C and reload everything...

Just shut IE down with TPF...

Checkout "SeaMonkey latest build", for a super browser...
If you have troubles with the nighly build SeaMonkey.. version 1.0 is stable, but not as exciting as 1.5...

With Mozilla browsers you need BlackIce Firewall... B.I.F. is well worth the purchase...

How do you connect to the Internet?..

Best option is to phone your provider's help line.. and they'll guide you throught it step by step...

To answer your main question: Microsoft always ask this so they know what kind of install to do so as not to tie up your phone line if you are on dial up internet for hours. Choose whichever type of Internet connection you currently have, eg broadband etc. PM me if you need further advice.

it does. copy, I have seen the screenshot of IE7, it looks kids style chlidish. I don't trust IE anyways coz they are spyware collector! and i hate miroshite
