I have lived in Turkey. They are barbarians.

My bf and I went to Ephesus the ancient city on an excursion and it was amazing
Only problem is that you will get alot of people persuading you to go in their restaurants but if you shout stop harrassing me they will stop!!!

I visited Ephesus! What an amazing place. Wasn't it funny how the library had an underground tunnel to the local brothel? Did you see the oldest surviving advertisement of the carved foot on the stone path: If your foot fits, then you're big enough to go to the brothel.

I know what you mean about the heat. I've only travelled to Turkey in the summer, and it got very hot for this Canadian chicky.

Did you have any merchants shout at you, "Let me help you spend your money!" Tons of people are willing to be your tour guide if you visit their shop, or their brother's restaurant, or their cousin's bakery...

The Turks are very hospitable, and they have delicious food! Loved it there! :D

yea i did think it was funny aparently whilst the ladies were reading books in the library their husbands went off to the brothel

Try Didim the Temple of Appolo thats a good trip and the salt mountains with the pools of hot water (cant remember name sorry) but it is a great trip there is a lake with a temple under it with hot water that you can swim in.

I spent a wonderful two weeks in Turkey a few years ago and really enjoyed the hospitality they offered.

To be fair there are many countries which "hassle" they way they do - it doesnt matter whether it is Greece or Egypt or China - they are all vying for your business so that is part and parcel of a trip like that and you just have to keep saying no and walk away. Do not let yourself get led away as you will definitely find you get ripped off but being aware of this and being prepared will definitely help you enjoy your holiday more.
