I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS DONE OR IS DOING THEIR OWN FLOWERS. ALSO, IF YOU ARE, ARE YOU USING REAL OR SILK FLOWERS? I WANT TO DO MINE AND WOULD LIKE SOME IDEAS AND WHETHER IT IS ACHIEVABLE

Unless you are incredibly well organised don't do it! Flowers have to be done at the last minute and you will have far too many other things on your mind. Confused

If you're going to do your own flowers, use silk ones, as real ones will have to be bought and assembles the day before the wedding at the earliest.

Hi there,

My friend just got married and done her own flowers
I didnt, I went to the florists.

but she did this -

bought white lillies (12 total) and each bridesmaid had 6 all tied together with a complementing yellow ribbon (nice thick ribbon...material was chiffon)

for her flowers she did the same .... only she used white roses and got twigs from her garden and dipped the twigs in glitter and places them throughout the roses all tied with another yellow ribbon.

for the table settings (she used the displays from the church in her reception) she used one pillar candle per table and tied white roses with the glitter sprinkles into the candle with the yellow ribbons.

for the church - she used 3 garden canes tied into a teepee.. and allowed ivy to go round the legs and then she placed lillies and roses every so ofetn throughout the legs and the top was a candle with the canes holding it in place.... it was very elegegant.

If you are on a budget - carnations are one of the cheapest - and can add subtle romance to the flowers.

Hope this helps and good luck on the big day.... stay in the dress all day and night if you can.... its the only dayyou will get to wear it.
