| Do you all think it matters how old you are if you are considering a belly button piercing? If you do, why? |

Yeah it does. In some places you need to be 18 yrs old. In others you can be younger but need a guardian present. |

| I've had mine for 10 years now. Keep in mind that it will leave a little scar above your belly button once it's removed, so if you don't want your body permanently scarred then this isn't for you. |

| Where I went to get my belly button pierced the woman said its better done on people past the age of 18 because they have probably stopped growing by then and the belly bar should not grow out, but if you have it done and you still have growing to do i.e height then the piercing would just grow out faster, plus to have it done again is a nightmare because it is scar tissue and hurts twice as much. |

i am 17 and had my belly button peirced a few weeks ago at the place I went u had 2 b 16 2 hav it done. If you were younger than that then u need ur parents 2 sign the form. I know lotas of people who hav had it done younger than 16 and their's hav turned out fine so i don't think it really matters.

I've had my eye brow done and I also have my nose pierced now, the belly button done though was something that I've never considered. I have a scar from my eye brow ring, and it sucks, and I will probably have one as well from my nose ring when I take it out, but bellybuttons are just something I've never boughten into. I think if someone wants to get a piercing they should be at least 17, like I was when I first got mine done, however, piercings are not that big of a deal anymore as we're not in the 50's.......Bellybutton piercings are just not for me, but if someone wants to get it done, go for it, just make sure you're old enough to know what you're doing |

| I really want to get my belly button pierced, and I'm 18 so age isn't a problem. The problem is how to tell my mother. She's the type who thinks it's all a crazy fad, but I have wanted it since I was about 5. She and I have a really good relationship so I don't want to jeopardize it. I'll definately pay for when the time comes, either soon or once I'm in college, but I want it before I graduate. So, could y'all help me figure out how to approach her about it? |

|

Hello! I took my belly button ring/barbell out after 2 years. It's been about 7 months since I took it out, and it has left a noticeable hole, with a very dark circle around it, and the area around it is depressed. I expected a scar, but not this. It looks awful.
I'm wondering if anybody has advice on what to do about this? My dermatologist was going to punch the scar out and resew it. I am not against minor surgery for the scar, I just want to see what others have done about this. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi, im 15 and had my belly pierced in august. The pain is not at all bad (im not ne of those people who does not feel pain-i do) and this wasn't that bad at all! The trick with belly piercing is that if you take a deep breath and dont get all flustered when you are having it done and you clean it out regualarly and dont fiddle with the barbell- you'll be fine. Don't worry and good luck. |

i had the exact same problem- I went ahead and did it anyway and when my mum saw it she was shocked but by the end of the day she admitted that it did look quite pretty! Don't worry and go for it! |

What you have to do is rejuvinate the scar tissue- get some lavender oil and rub it on clean skin for a few weeks- it has to be pure and you will soon see the scar fading. |
