A FILM featuring actual sex scenes has had its X-rating relaxed so it can be shown in Australia according to Australia's daily telegraph.
The highly controversial 9 Songs from Michael Winterbottom has had its rating certificate changed to R 18+ after a vote by the five-member panel of the Office of Film and Literature Classification's Review Board,
The panel voted three to two in favore of removing the X rating, though they have stated the film must display warning to the effect that the movie does show actual sex taking place.
The Classification Review Board's decision noted "while some scenes may offend some sections of the adult community, the actual sex scenes are justified by the context, narrative, tone and artistic merit".
The film about the relationship of a young london couple and their love for rock concerts, has only recieved very poor critics reviews labelled boring and dull, the sex scenes themselves were also panned described as un-interesting manner.
