Chris Martin Defends Private Paltrow Marriage....

Coldplay star Chris Martin has defended his decision to keep his marriage to actress Gwyneth Paltrow out of the public eye - insisting their relationship is of no concern to the outside world.

The ultra-private couple has maintained a low-public profile in recent years, refusing to accompany one another to red carpet events and rarely being spotted out in public together.

Their lack of public contact since their secret nuptials in 2003 has prompted tabloid speculation their marriage was on the rocks.

However, last month (May08), Paltrow laughed off the rumours, branding the reports as "ridiculous".

And now, singer Martin has given his reasons for keeping their private life out of the public domain, saying he doesn't need to mention his famous wife in interviews to make his relationship with her stronger.

He tells Britain's Observer newspaper, "It's possible for two humans to be in a relationship without there needing to be some public reason for that relationship.

"Maybe as it is with all our wives, maybe we just like each other, and it doesn't have anything to do with the outside world".
