Medical Issues force Flouride from the Dead Kennedys

Last week, 08th Aug 21:01

Dead Kennedy's punk icon Klaus Flouride has quit the group due to medical issues.

The rocker has announced he will no longer perform with the U.S. music veterans, ending a 30-year tenure with the band.

In a statement, his spokesman says, "Due to a reoccurring medical condition, Klaus Flouride has decided that the rigors of touring and the demands of the band were the determining factors in making this difficult decision.

"Flouride will continue to perform regionally with bands like The American Professionals, The Go Going Gone Girls Band and The Legendary Stardust Cowboy, but the road has become a grind that is counterproductive to his health.

The punk rocker adds, "Over the past 30 years, I have had the great fortune to have been a founding member of Dead Kennedys. It's been tough at times but particularly rewarding.

"However, a recurring medical condition, called Angioedema, has caused me to make the difficult decision to withdraw from the road as a touring member of Dead Kennedys."

Angioedema is a blood disease that leads to rapid swelling, and can be life-threatening.
